My Twin spotted in Round Rock

I saw someone on an 01 929 (red and black) on Thursday headin up I35 going north to Old Settlers Blvd.

It had some FB.org stickers on the bike so I assumed (duh) that he's on here. Don't remember the helmet type, but he was wearing a Joe Rocket red/black/white jacket.

I was taggin behind in a Black GMC Yukon. Got to Sunrise Blvd. and he bailed left (going north). Kinda odd/freaky to see someone who's riding and identical to my gear...helmet included and all. Reply back Like the rear seat cowl. Looks like I need to get one once I get the bike prepped for paint.

Wasn't an out of body experience was it?

That would be me. and that must be you that I would see going down Old Settlers on occasion last summer. You have the tapeworks applied, right?? Very strange...two Victor's on R/B 929's, same general area of Round Rock TX...What are the odds?? Give me a shout sometime.

Sure thing, I would love to nab a seat cowl soon, but between the HTEV eliminator and a PCIII I find it hard saving money. Especially now that I need tires.

you say he has the same gear helmet included and all, then how come you can't remember what type of helmet you have?

That was my first and last group ride with TSBA. Haven't had another ticket since. Nice guys and all, but it just seemed to attract the wrong attention. 2 Police stops in a 12mile section. Hell we were barely moving anyway....just conjurs up bad feelings. I figure if I ride with one or two, I can stay relatively low on the radar.

I got my seat cowl for $25 painted and ready to roll because the guy that posted it on Ebay did not put in the right description and I happened to find it with a couple of days left and put in a last second bid to win it. Keep your eyes open for weird descriptions. I found mine doing a search for cowl and had to filter out about 3 pages before I found it under the weird title.

I know all about the saving money part....I am trying to get up the cash for a damper Ebay aka dampener or dampner or dampenner etc....... I'll find one with low action some day.

It looked identical, but not the same. I know what type of helmet I have.

Lime Creek flat out sucks anyway.

Re: My Twin spotted in Round Rock

I ride with a KBC TK9. Not the greatest lid on the the market but not the worst either. Maybe one day I will buy an Aria or Shoei but that is back to the money saving game once again.

KBCs have been outselling everything around here lately, my local Honda dealer just added them about a month ago cause the local kaw/yam/suz/aprillia dealer was selling them so fast so they wanted to get in on the action.

Re: My Twin spotted in Round Rock

I have the HJC CL14. Nothing to brag about by any means but I do need something newer. This has lasted me the past 2 years and I need something better. The wind noise is just too harsh.

I'm gunna look into the TK9. I just have a huge melon, it's hard to find XL's or even XXl's that fit. And to think the HJC I have is a L.

go with a suomy spec-1r, the us suomy site has the hat sizes on there next to the m/l/xl etc. I love that helmet, has some wind noise but I'm lazy and haven't adjusted the face shield (think I'll do that now actually, thanks for the reminder that it does that) but its an awesome helmet, a ton of world superbike guys use them a bit pricy though www.mrmotorcycleonline.com I bought mine there, $430 everywhere else its $500
