| Houston If I ever go back it will be too soon. Every road down there is under construction. (The Gulf Freeway was from 62 until well after 94) No exaggeration here! Every road we took had heavy construction from 45 to 610 over to 10 and surrounding areas. We spent more than 25% of our travel time from Plano just getting across Houston. I thought the last time I was there it was a fluke but now I'm pretty sure if I had to live there I would just walk and get places faster. The sheer numbers of cars was staggering, especially if you overlay the numbers of cars we saw across the tremendous land mass of the city.
EDIT: http://traffic.houstontranstar.org/c...on_report.aspx
fun new link. Its IS all under contruction!

Every road we took had heavy construction. | You're describing Omaha, Figment. This town has grown by a nearly a quarter (to 400,000 people today) in the last twenty years, and the city is way behind in keeping up with the road projects to accomodate the traffic loads.
That's why I do most of my local riding in the Loess Hills of western Iowa. |

| Re: Houston Houston is the armpit of Texas. It is a hive of scum and villiany. It is the only place in Texas I do not like. Houston, LA, and NYC are the top 3 on my "do not want to move there when I graduate" list. |
