FWD sucks in winter, I hated every FWD car I ever had in the snow. I have no weights in the back of my Ranger, nor do I use 4WD unless I really have to and have no problems getting around.

I want to see how you RWD guys drive in the snow sometime. I used to have to go up my street sideways when I had my Mustang. Every turn was a chance to fishtail (which earned me a ticket in a parking lot one time) and the car would break loose with little warning. The only time my Accord is uncontrollable in the snow is if I make it be or if I'm careless.

Re: Weather in MO

My old school TBird was RWD and was good in the snow. Of course it had nothing to do with the sane bags in the trunk

With the commute I have had on and off for the past few yrs though it has to be FWD or AWD now

Re: Weather in MO

It's London, it's grey and tepid, between 2C and 12C. No snow, frosts in the morning, rain showers.

Over the New Year I was up in Yorkshire and on one walk we had rain, sleet, hail and snow, but no snow on the ground for any length of time.

Re: Weather in MO

I've personally never had a problem with any vehicle in the snow, fwd or rwd. closest problem I've ever had was in a bus which has a rear engine and rwd, they liked to slide the back a little but it was nothing I couldn't control. been in a civic that slid off the on ramp getting onto the highway not even going that fast.

tires do make the biggest difference as has been said a few times.

ER fly in today, I'll pick you up in my rwd car and go out and have some fun. we have snow on the ground now and suppose to get more later. my traction is aided by 2 12" subs in the trunk but I can still slide it at will most of the time. one time I was coming home to pick my brother up to go to a concert and I was trying to hard to fish tail it down my street and it wouldn't go, then it finally did and into the snow bank. I thought I broke my head lights btu I just filled them with snow. then 70 miles later I was at the show with abosolutely no prblem getting there as everyone else was scared to be on the roads but the highways were plowed better than I had ever seen.

Liar, you'd never be able to do that to an RC. You're too much in love with 'em.

I've had three burritos, two tacos, refried beans, rice, and a hamburger/bean/cheese/salsa mix in the last three days if my services are neded.

My poor wife knew full well what she was getting herself into when she married me. She's still not fully comfortable doing a #2 with me in the house, while I have no shame at all.

Booth, I'm downright dangerous right now.

Nuclear for sure, as our favorite Mexican restaurant that we've been frequenting serves a fire-hot jalapeno salsa. They should serve a bucket of ice for you to sit in around 18 hours after you've eaten there.

I drove a little more than 90 miles on ice covered roads last night checking on people stuck in the ditch, off the road, etc in a 99 Ford Crown Vic and never had a bit of trouble. A little throttle control and patience goes a long ways.

anyone know of the Blizzard of 78? 6 feet of snow in a couple days. I know someone who drove down the highway and home in a mid 70s trans am with the 400 engine. everyone else was stuck but she was plowing along without a problem.
