| Chicago area member saying hi "hi" lol
Just wanted to drop in and say that I feel very lucky to have found this site!! Can't believe it took me this long. I've got a metric assload of questions regarding the 929, I've got some plans for this bike.
Coming off an R1, was gonna get something new ('05/liter) but came across a deal too good to pass up. Besides the 9xx series has a special place in my heart as I've owned two in the past, a 94 and a 96.
That's about it. Looking forward to gaining as much knowledge as possible, saving a few bucks, and hopefully meeting some members for rides.
I know some great roads as I'm sure others here do. Located in the NW burbs.
Thanks for havin' me |

| Re: Chicago area member saying hi Thanks for the warm welcome people!
I know what ya mean, saving $$$ and riding bikes doesn't seem to mix very well But it's all good, all part of the fun (till the CC bill comes in). I am hoping to save a few bucks on gear here and there, gonna do my best. All my gear disintegrated(sp?) in Oct, owie. And then of course I'll be needing some *more* performance mods. And suspension mods. And tools, and...uh oh here we go again..
Would love to go to Grattan, details? |

It's an addiction, or affliction? It's in my blood brother I don't know what else I'd do with myself. Life is too short to fear the things you love. And like anything you love, eventually there will be some pain involved. |

Welcome aboard. Maybe we can meet-up for some rides this spring. I'm new to the area so riding with someone who knows the area would be cool. I'm in Schaumburg.
Later,

Later,
Jim | Jim,
Anytime! Just let me know. You're about 15-20 mins away from me. Where ya from?
We do the fun stuff on the weekends. But I'm all for tooling around on weekdays too. Very rarely we hit the city because there's nothing quite like the sound of several sportbike exhausts screaming on lower wacker drive at 3am!! It's a spiritual experience and must be done at least once per season (personal rule). Other than that I don't like going into the city at all. Out in the boonies is where the fun begins. |

| Re: Chicago area member saying hi Alot of people seem really excited about the new track. It's supposed to be excellent and fairly close all things considered. Hard to beat brand new. I'm excited to ride myself. I think we'll all be rusty that's just how it goes in this climate. I'm thinking definately blackhawk, possibly road america or grattan, and would really like to check out the new autobahn. At least there's an extra choice this year. Since this will be my first year at the track I'm going to start at blackhawk. It's a smaller track but I think it's a great place to get acquainted w/ track riding. Plus I know a few people that go there on a regular basis so should make the whole thing easier.
Gonna be a great year, we'll do some riding for sure. |
