| Re: Wisconsin people, help me out! Yeah that's the track. Do you recall the name of the school that had the track school. I'll poke around the track link, maybe I can find it there. |

Hey, just curious, where in MN are you?
BTW, They have a cheap school in Brainerd (BIR) ( link for some reason some of their links aren't working right now)...and jason pridmore runs his star school at Elkhart lake, WI.
i would like to attend one of these sometime in the distant future. |

| Re: Wisconsin people, help me out! I live in St. Paul. I ride with a group that meets on the west side of the cities. I have been riding sport bikes for about 5 years.
I don't consider myself to be an experienced rider. I don't have time to ride a lot because I went back to school and still work a lot, everyone here also knows how short summers are.
I have wanted to hit a track day or school for a few years now but just haven't been able to get the gear together and do it. I finally picked up a 1 piece leather at Dennis Kirk scratch and dent for 150 bucks a few days ago. (Technic perforated model, chicane I think). I think this is finally the year I get my s?*& together and go.
Anyway I thought a school might be the way to go, I'd like to be with other beginners and not have people flying by me twice as fast, worry about cutting people off or something. Anyway beginner type stuff advice is welcome. I still don't want to spend a ton on the school- Prodmore's is looking a little pricey. Thanks for any past and future info.
PS I occasionally hit Prescott, 35 along the river is by far my favorite, if only it could be closed down to traffic and police for a few hours... |

| Re: Wisconsin people, help me out! There is an excellent riding course at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount. Myself and many of my friends attend this regularly in the summer. It is only $75 for a full day, run by CRA members, and an excellent learning tool. Check out their website DCTC |

There won't be any of the issues you mentioned (cutting people off or being passed at twice your speed). You will also be among friends and have a chance to ride on one of America's best tracks. Many members that attended the first Fireblades.org Days @ Grattan have commented that this was the best, most laid back, enjoyable event they have ever attended. Add the fact that Dan Kyle will be there, several Grattan veterans are willing to help out newcomers and with the low price, you really don't have a logical alternative by comparison.
Learning Curves is a race school and although a good one, they really aren't equipped to handle a new track rider. They have a strict charter to acquaint potential racers with the rules of the track, safety wiring, racing etiquette and so on. They don't teach you what to expect on track, nor do they really provide much in the way of track time, especially in comparison to what you can expect at Fireblades.org Days @ Grattan II.
Think about it. Drive time from the Illinois/Wisconsin border is all of 3 hours and Grattan makes Blackhawk look like a pinball machine . . .

| Re: Wisconsin people, help me out! I agree with Abtech. I haven't done an event with Fireblades yet, but for a first time track experience, it would probably be ideal. There will be guys and gals of all skill levels that will be happy to lend a hand or advice. I'm looking forward to picking the brains of the fast guys.
COME TO GRATTAN
That is all.

| Re: Wisconsin people, help me out! Keith Code started doing his Superbike School at Blackhawk Farms last year (it used to be at Road America); and Reg Pridmore has his CLASS at Road America. A friend and I did CLASS last year, and plan to attend again this year. It is Mon. & Tues. after the AMA races. Both are similarly priced, but will also be similar in price to Jason Pridmore's school. |
