I just got done with my 3rd night of drag racing, making nearly 20 passes at the local racetrack. They finally booted us off at 11:30pm to prep for the next day's race. For the first half of the night I was running in the low 11's, which wasn't anywhere near my previous fastest time (10.798@133).
Then I found my mojo.
Here's my best run of the night, on my stock (gearing and otherwise) Fireblade:
RT: .154
60' 1.863
1/8: 6.920 @ 112.72 mph
1/4: 10.414 @ 139.34 mph
I'm damn proud of myself for that one. I found that clutchless shifting and a better throttle position combined makes for a whole mess of speed. I also found wide-open throttle in 3rd and 4th gears. There's still plenty to work on. I was alternately closing the throttle too much and then not enough for shifting. My launches need a lot of work. My best reactions are in the sub 0.05 range, but it varies quite a bit.
Finally, as of tonight, I finally understand the difference between street fast and track fast. Good gravy, that was a lot of fun.
