May 11th Private Trackday at US131

here is the new information if you're interested in participating in a private trackday at the dragstrip... $ 50.00 all day.. that evening they start an Open Test and Tune that is open to public if you stay there's another fee for that $ 20.00

all bikes allowed ...
no cars ...

Hope to see some of ya'll there... can't wait... if it's half as much fun as I had with ya'll at the Fireblades event I'll be tickled pink LOL

well no real set up, just some general maintenance work. i need to install a new set of sprockets and chain, new tires, adjust suspension, change oil, and figure out why a couple of gears slip when shifting in high RPMs.

plus i've never race at the strip before, which is where the practice comes in!

luckily i have a dragstrip about 15 minutes away, i'll have to shoot over there as soon as it gets warm.

edit: oh yea, and some paint touch ups! anyone ever have a rear right fairing fly off their bike going 75 on the highway, during rush hour? lol needless to say it's not pretty.

you talkin about goin to Milan? I need to hit them early spring to get my IHRA license...

and no I can't say I've had anything come off my bike while riding LOL.. glad to hear it didnt' cause issues with YOU that could have caused more serious results to have happened...

Yea i'm talkin about Milan, it's where i live. It's about an hour 15 west from d-town. come to town a weekend when there's races going on and i'll meet up with ya for a lil 1v1. i know some good back roads to check out too if you ride street at all.

I come to Detroit quite often considerin I'm so far north.. use to ride down yonder a good bit (on my 929) but with all the trackdays (Grattan and Autobahn roadcourses) I didn't have the time for many street rides and usually offered to lead Redline and freinds in 3 Thumb Area rides ....

I have been to Milan once to watch Sonicsbomb race.. wow there are some fast bikes there... plan to hit their first friday of the month runs... but def gotta get my license as soon as I can .. so we'll see when they post up their schedule when I'll be down that way first...

Ubly is UblyDragway and then there is Lapeer Lapeer International Dragway

both are here in the Thumb area..

Ubly is 1hr 45 mins north of Detroit
Lapeer is 1 hr north of Detroit

I'm about 3.5 hrs north of Milan...

you're welcome to come over to redlines forum to keep tabs on alot of those folks who are closer to you than I... I will be posting track info there as well as here...

I'll post up MY schedule to see who all is gonna be at the same tracks at the same time so that we can hook up to shoot the ****...

Is there any mods I need to do to run? In the past when I dragged at Martin US131 I had to have a tether,does that still apply? What else do i need to do?

Hey hey... sorry I didn't bump sooner...

Bobo88... sorry to hear that I was scared I myself wasnt' going to be able to have my bike ready...

any chance you may still ?? are you waitin on parts still?

drooger... tether required for all bikes.. Leathers for times faster than 9.99 I'm not 100% sure however if they will allow jeans and riding jackets for slower times... If you have some textile type riding pants or regular leather pants that would be fine.. they do not have to zip together from what I've been told...

nothing was stated had to be safety wired or anything special like that done to the bike other than the tether...

We own the track from 11AM-5PM. Gates open @ 9AM.
Test and Tune will follow from 6PM-11PM It will cost an additional $20.00 for T&T.

Cost for track day is $50.00 Per BIKE.

well a combination of waiting on parts, money for said parts, and time to do the work.

my body work is about 75% done now. I've begun work on the clutch, guage panel, and replacing the sprockets. it turns out though the basket case for the clutch got damaged so i need one of those too now. so my new kevlar racing clutch is just sitting collecting dusk while my engine is hollowed out with no replacement oil yet!

when this happened i gave up on taking the exhaust off to suspend the bike to remove the wheels to change the sprockets (and grab the front fender for painting).

so yea, it's in a big mess at the moment and no chance on finishing it for tomorrow night. any other local events coming up that you're looking forward to dreamryder?
