i am mechanically inclined but should i try to install a mps racing airshifter and nitrous on my 1000rr or pay 300+ to get it done. The nitrous kit says 2 hour installation but it is alot of wires....so for those of you who have done it before should i try or jus cut my losses and pay for it to be done

If after reading the directions carefully you still have questions on if you can do this.....Take it to a reputable shop.

after reading the how to you should be able to believe in your ability to do it. If there's any doubt in your mind why risk it?

It was for a different bike, but I just installed a Cycle Tek air shifter and a Dyno Tune N20 kit not more than a few weeks ago. It took me a lot more than 2 hours LOL - but it wasn't that hard.

The hardest part is probably splicing into the coils for the kill box - not a big deal once you get the air box off. With that 1kRR I'd think your biggest challenge would be finding places to mount everything.

I say go for it - it's too cold to ride anyway.

Edit: also - what kind of kit is it? MPS? My dynotune "complete kit" didn't have the relay I needed and was missing a few other things as well - might wanna look into that before you get started.

I am not sure about the MPS, but my Cycletek airshifter came with a complete plug and play harness specifically for my bike. The hardest part on my busa was splicing into the coils. It was actually easy, I had just never had my airbox off before.

On a 1kRR space is going to be an issue. Remember that you want your air/CO2 solenoid as close to the shift cylinder as you can get it. I'd PM Silverbullet if you had any specific questions - he's the resident drag race expert here - and he's set up lots of Hondas for drag duty.
