| drag raceing my 929 I have strapped down the front of mine 929 during drag raceing and it cropped my time down bout 5tenths what i want to know is if i buy one of those adjustable lowering links for the back how hard are they to install and if it will actually help lower my time even more on the drag strip? If so does anyone know the cheapest place i can buy one? Thanks. |

| Re: drag raceing my 929 First ask yourself if you want a cheap part on your bike at 140mph.

| Re: drag raceing my 929 what are you dragging a 1/4 mile or a 1000 ft. I drag at the track on my 929 1000 ft track with my 929 stretched, lowered, 1 down in the front sprcket and 3 up in the back and Im running 8.1 beating busas gxsr r1 and street and track. and that is with a stock air filter, a bangged M4 slip-on, no racing fuel(87 octane), w/o a power commander. The bike is completely stock except exhaust and extentions. I set my rpm at 7 grand and drop the clutch she does the rest with me speed shifting all the way throw 4th gear. Oh I for got Im running nkg iridium 8e spark plugs which a size below stock because it a hotter plug.
Im planning on getting an air shifter, power commander, and maybe a dry shot of NOS in a few months and oh yeah a 200 shinko tire I been racing on 180 and 190 dunlops. A shinko is sticker and grips better |

| Re: drag raceing my 929 togo929, just a suggestion...make sure that Shinko says "UltraSoft 003" on it. I used to use a mickey thompson shootout tire but changed to the 003. I think it sticks every bit as good as the MT. |

| Re: drag raceing my 929 a dude thanks for the info i apreciate it im just racing the regular quarter mile races and runnin on a metzler m1 sport tech tire damn your bike sounds bad ass i love my 929 like no other bike dude and the track opens up in two weeks here i cant wait. i put a new clutch in it and im dropping the bike 2inch in the back in up front strapping it down. If i drop the clutch at 7000 with the setup im going to use this year you think its going to wheelie bad on me or should i just bust it out in go. i think alot of my problem was dragging my clutch to much last year course being the beginner i was. i was skeered haha anyway dude hope to hear back from ya |

| Re: drag raceing my 929 What might help you on the launch is to hold the engine RPM where it makes the most torque, not hp. I use to drag my 954 back in 03 on a 1/8 mile track and this seemed to help my 0-60 ft times. Hope this helps.

Do you still remember where the 954 made the most torque? I could use the help launching.

| Re: drag raceing my 929 Well you dont rev to 9000 RPM and then drop the clutch!! Gear, Rev, Hold, Green light, Start slipping the clutch. It takes skill, but it did lower my E.T.
