silverbullett or others..

hello, i'm looking for some 929/54rr info. I found a thread where some individual asked about swing arm extensions like this..

58cycle Parts & Accessories Webstore

i want to know how durable they are, i'm looking for something stronger but cant find anything but these . I'm a bigger guy 240lbs max and would sometimes like to accommodate a 100lb passenger otherwise i'd be in the dog house!

other than that, i'm having a hard time finding a longer rear brake hose.

i'l be looking for more info but we'l start with this

thanks in advance

Re: silverbullett or others..

I've seen several bikes at the track with them, so I would imagine they are pretty durable. As for the lines, check local hot rod shops, most can make you a braided hose any length you want. I got mine from Speedway, but their choice of lengths is very limited. The hose is pretty inexpensive, it's those dang fittings that rob you!

Re: silverbullett or others..

thanks for your response. i seemed to find an outfit that takes your swing arm and welds the custom extensions on at any length you want fixed for 75 dollars more than the bolt on jobbers. i think i'm going to go that route for the state of mind, especially considering i may be riding with a passenger.

Re: silverbullett or others..

yeah, if it was me I would definitely want it welded. That's alot cheaper than the 550 I paid to have Myrtle West do my arm. One word of caution...It will handle TOTALLY different with the extra length on the street. Going around curves, it will try to stay upright and will not want to lean.

Re: silverbullett or others..

I used them for a little over a year I think and I had no problems racing or having my girl on the back. I did switch to a 10" over arm and weld on though since I needed to go farther back to keep the wheel down.

I used a scooters brake line and still have it on there with no problems; or you can do the steel braided that was mentioned.

Your real line should be long enough is you are only going 6 over, just reroute it. If you get extensions stay away from Yanka Shiki. I had a set bend. If you are 240 I would gear it at 15,45 or 46. I am 225 and ran 15 46 and went 9.90 on stk motor with shifter shift at 10,800

Re: silverbullett or others..

My gearing is 1 down 2 up. I bought my tether from the track when mine broke; Schnitz has them, or you can get one of the clips and add it to the bungee hook you can get from Wal Mart or probably auto shop.
