| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest motor only
60' time 1.6
1/8 mile 6.5 @108
1/4 mile 10.2 @131
crossing the 1/4 mile line in 3rd so will be dropping the front sprocket down one, need to spend some time fitting a good chain tentioner as nearly 9 feet of chain slapping around makes me very nervous at the top end. |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest If its only in third you need alot of gearing and you need to drop that 60 to get a good time. Girlfreind has a 929 with a 954 motor in it. Dynoed at 137rwhp at 59.5 wheelbase. 60's are 1.48 to 1.54 1/8 6.09-6.17 at 118 1/4 9.38-9.47 at 145 gear at 16-46 but shee weighs 115lb leaving at 5500. When I rode it I was geared at 15 46 went 9.95 at 135 and I weigh 225lbs. It goes through the traps at top of 5th |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest I hear what ure saying, im on 15/45 at the moment with me at 1751b.The mt slick i use is 2.5 " longer in rolling circumfrence plus due to its soft wall it grows at speed, i think the 1.6 60' shows i need to drop at least 1 more(14) at the front. this being the first runs i put down on the track also leaves me with a lot of work to do in the riding seat to improve times, ive not raced for 10 years. . the motor was supposed to be putting out 135 at the wheels, would you say so with these times ? |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest It shard to say since you only in 3rd. I wouldnt go any smaller than 15 in the front or you will start eating up chains. I would go up 3 or 4 in the back maybe even more!! |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest don't remember what is stock on the front, but i'm 2 down running a DR chain with no wear problems. What chain are you running Muppet? If you aren't running a DR chain, you should look into it. It rolls twice as easy as an Oring chain. Also, running a slick and as long as you are, I would be leaving with a 2step. I tried it with mine a couple of times but never got it dialed in then rod bearing spun. Just some food for thought. |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest Thanks for that bryanclapper but i cant go any bigger on the rear due to the top brace on the swingarm comming in contact with the chain.
Hi cbr900racer Stock was 16 so 14 would make it the -2, yes i run a DR chain and the 2 step set at now set at 7,000 it was on 4,500 to start with.
I've also got to look into a rear shock as i am solid at present, i dont think is is helping my 60' times. |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest you mean a solid strut in the rear? that is DEFINITELY hurting your short times. a stocker would be better than a strut. There are still a few fox twin clickers around. I want a Penske, but they are priced outrageous. Currently I have a shock off an F2, it works pretty well but not enough adjustments. BTW, that Schnitz has a sweet lil 2step, huh? I tried an MSD launchmaster few years ago, it totally stunk. The Schnitz was way smoother. |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest the schnitz box really is the biz, very adjustable for revs, launch, over rev, timming and great for setting and running the gas. yes the solid strut is a pain but as you say a penske would be great, but i cant afford one yet, i need a unit about 2" sorter than stock rr ones due to the bike being so low ,im on the lookout around the breakers.have a look at Peter Donaldson's Drag Racing Photo's shakespeare county raceway ,public track day june 14/15 there are some action shots of me ( the yellow one ) once again the only honda at the strip. |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest Is the controller on it dual ramp? My old Promod box didn't have it, but I hooked up a seperate controller that was dual ramp. It didn't work as well as I thought it would. I had 80hp pills in it and had it 20% starting, going to 50% at around 3 secs. then 100% at about 4.5 secs. The last hit I didn't even feel. This time around (after I get all out of the motor I can) I'm going to install a second set of foggers right behind the stacks and have a true dual stage setup. Have you seen the new schnitz controller? It's a PC3000 or something like that. That thing is BAD!! it's totally digital, no knobs. Has dual ramp and has a safety shutoff if bike goes lean. The downside is it's like 450 bucks....(If I could just sell my old VW bus I would get it ) |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest I went and looked at your pic...WOW!! I honestly tried to use it as background on my pc here at work but it wouldn't let me. Do you have a lockup? Looks like your clutch cover is out there more than stock. I would LOVE to see how it would do with my motor in there. BTW, shop said they would be finished sleeving my block this saturday so I can start putting her back together...finally! |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest yes i have got the lockup fitted,i got it from orient express, i just need the horses now to warrant it. Your vw bus would sell very quick over here there highly sought after. yes the pro 2 has dual ramp, i think the spec is almost the same as the new controller but with knobs. i bet you cant wait to get you motor up and running.do you have any plans for the chassis ? |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest 41mm FCR Keihin's. If you get the chance, grab a set, they are awesome. A total pain in the rear to tune, but well worth it. As for the chassis, no plans yet (maybe save up for that Penske). Motor "should" run 6.0's in the 1/8. Me and a buddy ported the head ourselves, can't wait to see how that turns out. I'm replacing all my NOS stuff and going with Speedtech. |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest Think of the goodies you can get if you sell the van ? . i,ve now fitted a 14 t front sprocket and a rear shock on the bike after making an adjustable link to keep the it low, will be interesting to see how it launches now .i will be keeping an eye out for some 41mm carbs. |

| Re: outlaw 900 rr latest She is gonna leave the line like a whole new animal with that shock! Post how it does. Properly geared, you shouldn't have any trouble getting low 1.30's on 60 foot (if not better). I got my block back saturday, all I need is bearings to come in and I can start assembly. I was worried about overheating problems going 4mm over, but there is still plenty of block left between cylinders. |
