| 954rr nitrous nozzle location One more nitrous question. I'm slowly installing all my system and electronics this week. I was wondering where you guys have your nozzle placed exactly and how it's working out.
I was thinking about under the filter right in between the two air ducts but I wanted to see what others are doing.
Silverbullet? How about you?
Thanks! |

Right now I'm wiring up a tps switch in conjunction with a window switch that sprays from 2nd gear up and only at a set rpm and it will shut itself off before redline.
I have a pretty good map right now and I found the guideline for adding fuel for the shot I'm running on Schnitz racing's site. What I'm trying to figure out at the moment is how to alter the map I have now. It says to add so many percent at these particular cells... but how much do I increase each cell to go up say 15%? I'm assuming take the number there already and just multiply it by 15% and go from there.
I will store this second map on my PCIII - and I have a hub so I can switch maps to the nitrous map on the fly before arming the nitrous. |

| Re: 954rr nitrous nozzle location I can tell you I had Ryan map mine on motor, and I went up 1 bar in the mid, and 2 bars up top and it was fine. I ran it on a dyno to make sure. Pulled 180 hp and I went 9.50 at 143 |

I keep hearing just bump up the PC 2 bars up top - but I want to build a map so I can just flick the switch on the bars to go back to my motor map. I don't know how much to increase each cell on the map to equal "2 bars" on the PCIII hard buttons. |

I drilled small holes into the lower half of the air box and then into the lower portion of the velocity stacks so there is no air filter to rob my spray and all cylinders get hit evenly |

| Re: 954rr nitrous nozzle location that is kind of the problem. It is designed to max out the injectors when the nitrous kicks in, but apparently the ecu on the 954's really doesn't like it. My FI light came on and the bike stalled out when getting out of the throttle. At least it was on the dyno and not while I was going down the track.
I think the power commander is the way to go on these bikes |

| Re: 954rr nitrous nozzle location Yeah, definitely. If it was me, I would install a dynojet wideband as well. I guess I'm just old school, I like my wet...that way I know I have the correct amount of fuel, but there just isn't any room on newer bikes. |

| Re: 954rr nitrous nozzle location Be sure and let us know how it did...one quick word of advice. If ANYTHING goes wrong (tire spin, wheelie, miss a gear) SHUT IT DOWN...the run is wasted anyways, so just get out of the bottle and cruise through. You can get em next pass. My RR missed 4th gear I don't know how many times and I stayed in it running a busa side by side. motor was ticking before I could even get to the return road. It still ran a 9.70 @140 even after doing all that. Like the stickers say "stupid hurts"..have fun!! I'll be out there soon, finally got started on assembly and got pistons in. |

| Re: 954rr nitrous nozzle location well....I have my power commander ordered and I should see it early next week. I'm trying to get to the track this weekend and at least get some all motor passes in to test out the set up. I have a master arm switch on the left bar so I can shut off the spray if anything happens to go wrong. We're going to be bringing the laptop with us once the power commander is in and do some test and tune at the track too. Can't wait!!
I'll post up some numbers after the weekend |

Did you use the nylon lines into your velocity stacks? Also did you use any fittings to keep them in there or did you rtv them in or what?
Thanks. Quote:

| Re: 954rr nitrous nozzle location I have the nylon lines right in to the bottom of the stacks. I put 2 holes into the lower half of the air box and put rubber grommets there to keep the lines from slipping out but they are just sitting in the stacks. I kept the holes small there so they are a tight fit. My buddy tried it out this weekend and ran a 10.1 2 140mph with a 1.70 60ft. Only a 32 jet right now, but we are going to up that soon, just want to get it on the dyno first to be sure the power commander is keeping it rich enough. We need to get a couple more passes in to get the 60 ft's down and we're hoping to get it at least to the mid 9's Quote:

Thanks.
Okay - I've been searching all over the net. Which shower head am I looking for? Also what size are the nylon lines I need and what fittings to I need for them to screw into the showerhead? Everything I am finding looks way too big.
Thanks again. Quote:

She sounds pretty good (considering all I had was pump gas). I will have some times for ya Saturday. Hopefully it won't take too long to get it dialed in. I'm switching fuels this year so I'll be doing some tuning. |

And we don't even have a 1/4 mile track. I run on a 1000 foot track. 1/4 WOULD be fun but I know I can't make it.
This weekend sucked. Last trip at the track I ran an 8.62 in the 1000ft. This past weekend I rolled up - strapped on the bottle (60 shot) and expected to go nuts. Negative... ran an 8.60. Actually the first pass the bike was just sputtering and blowing black smoke. I had the nitrous map in but wasn't getting any nitrous - switched back to the motor map and all was fine.
I'm spraying in the front of my airbox before the filter. I don't know what's up. Maybe I'm freezing up my filter???? I have no idea but you couldn't feel it at all.
So I'm going with a showerhead (if it's small enough I'll epoxy it to the inside of my airbox - with nylon lines running from the showerhead to each individual velocity stack. I'm still running braided line from the solenoid to the shower head - the nylon lines come in after the nitrous jet so I don't think there will be enough pressure to blow them.
I'm not racing this Saturday - but NEXT saturday we'll see how this new setup works. Now if someone just make extensions for my bike longer than 6 inches!
I'll be waiting on those times! |

Okay so how are you connecting your nozzle (where the jet is) to the showerhead? Mine is apparently 1/16 on the spraying end - and I need to connect that to the showerhead which is 1/8... I can't find anything to make this work. |

Never mind - I got my machinist friend to custom make an adapter for me with 1/16 npt on one side and the 1/8 on the other side.
The nozzle holds the jet - it's screwed into the airbox and then the adapter into that. Then the showerhead and the nylon lines run from the head directly to the velocity stacks.
I got it all hooked up last night and hit the button with the bike off and good gawd that's a lot of nitrous foggin' out of each stack. This is going to be badass!
Thanks for the idea. |
