04-05 CBR1000RR

I am in the market for a 04-05 CBR1000RR, which I will be drag racing only.

Are there any differences between the 04 and 05 model years which would make one more desirable than the other?

Thanks

A very close friend has one. Fastest stock bike I've ever taken down 1/8 mile. It ran a 5.92 (12" over arm) and has never had valvecovers off. He is putting some cams in it, so we can't brag on it being stock anymore.

Read that too fast and thought you said he ran a 5 92 in the quarter, bout to throw up a major BS flag until I re-read it.

Re: 04-05 CBR1000RR

Stotz Racing inspired me to buy the CBR for drag. He is beating some of the fastest Busas with a liter bike having much less HP. That feat has made me somewhat loyal to the CBR1000. 7.2ET 1/4 miles on 190mm street tires.

very cool machine! Do you have a lockup? (you can't tell just by looking on the 1KRR). My buddy is putting cams in his (custom grind by Web). He "should" be pushing around 170 or so. We will see.

Re: 04-05 CBR1000RR

Power of dreams,

Have you tried finding someone personal from the U.S. to ship you the parts? What I mean is have the parts shipped to them, then they can ship to you.

I don't think you should suffer on parts, just because a company won't ship you them.

By the way, who makes the seat panel pieces on your bike?

Re: 04-05 CBR1000RR

I assume you have checked with MRE for a lockup? They won't ship overseas?
