ignition retard for nitrous

hello. I'm looking for someone who has played with ignition timing for better power on the 954 with a nitrous setup. Here is the scenario, I threw in an ignition advancer (+4 throughout), I now have a dry nitrous kit I am trying to utilize. Instead of taking out the advancer, I purchased the Dynojet ignition advance which allows the user to also retard timing by a max of 10 degrees.
Question:
What would be a good benchmark to start with? For example -4 at mid and upper rpm's, or retard the timing more, to say, -4 at mid range to -8 at wide open throttle. Anyone know what might work best to start?

it's at a 30 dry shot right now, I want to make sure everything works properly, if everything works fine I will go to a 40, which is the max I want to use( for now) . It is controlled by a wot, window switch, and a progressive controller.

Re: ignition retard for nitrous

I was told to start low and work up. This way I know I won't run into a catastrophic lean condition. Silver bullet stated he went up to a 60 shot on a modded 954 and the spark plugs melted. I think with a good dyno tune, to make sure your air and fuel ratio is good, a 50 shot would be fine. I will be going to my local dyno to make sure air fuel is correct at a 30 shot, then put in my 40 shot and get a custom map for it.
