| Ride in Central FLA Where is there a good place to ride a bike in the Orlando area? I currently live in Melbourne but am in the process of moving to the east side Orlando. I am just wondering where are the good routes to ride where I do not have to sit in traffic. |

| Re: Ride in Central FLA West 50 will get you to Clermont and Sugarloaf Mountain. Yes, a mountain. You will forget you are in Florida for a while. Very unlike the rest of the state. You can get to Ocala many ways, 40, 27, Turnpike. When you get over here, I can hook you up with a group that rides up that way every weekend. |

It sounds like there are more options of places to ride in the middle of the state as opposed to the east coast. The only place in Brevard is A1A or US1. But both roads are littered with traffic lights.
Thanks for the info. I will definately get in touch with you when the move is complete. |

Welcome To Central Florida! | CFCR guys are the ones I'm talking about for the every weekend rides. They know all the great roads. Watch out for the "rocky road" near Alexander springs!

| Re: Ride in Central FLA I live in Sarasota, which I know is quite a ride from Melbourne, but there is a road from Arcadia to Sarasota (STATE RT 72) over 40 miles each way with little traffic, not too many side roads entering, with some nice bends among the straights. My friends and I ride it quite a lot,as Its a road that you can do at a pretty good clip. I have met some guys from Ft Myers who ride up to do it, so I guess it must be a pretty good ride. |
