Re: 954 rider in PA Nope headed to Summit Point, WV. Riding with Nesba. Unfortunately it' s the last track day of the year. If I were you, I'd probably start with the track day and then do a school. I'm thinking of doing one in the spring to get a race license, but haven't fully committed to spending the money on racing yet.

Re: 954 rider in PA why the track day first? i thought it would be better to get some instruction first then go tear ass around a track. either way im jealous, hope you get some decent weather, enjoy!

Re: 954 rider in PA Your first day on the track makes a lot of guys nervous. I figure it's better to get that out of the way first and then you can focus more on learning at a school. Plus a lot of the track orgs use control riders and they set the pace and show you the lines on the track. You can definitely learn alot from them. Of course I could be totally wrong, but that's my opinion. We should defintiely get together at Ephrata. Maybe we could meet at the Hess station in town

Re: 954 rider in PA The club I ride with has a morning instructional session for riders who have never been on the track. I think most of the orgs do something like that, or at least keep you with a control rider your first time out. Personally, I took instruction for my first track day. I'd rather have instruction first, otherwise you have no idea where you belong on the track as far as lines, etc.

i was thinking Ephrata might be done for the year, or i might be getting that confused with the one in Lawn. But yea, if the weathers good we could defidently meet up. |

Re: 954 rider in PA I live in Philadelphia but go to school in northeast PA. the roads are absolutely amazing up here. Like the other guy said though, gotta pre-ride because there are tons of pot holes and cinders after winter. The poconos are a good time...even some parts of 309. 437, 115, the list goes on and on. Anyone that is in the Wilkes barre area MUST RIDE the "Giant's Despair." It's an insanely curvy road that the SCCA closes down every year to do a hill climb. From downtown wilkes-barre, take northhampton st. east until it turns into laurel run road....and you're there. Don't go balls out at first because it gets pretty crazy. PM me if you want a video of me going up the road or for better directions.
