we usually head up the sprain brooke pkwy to taconic, or bronx river pkwy to taconic; it all depends on starting point. tried looking for some maps but just got too lazy. will try again tomorrow. |

| Re: Bear Mtn Area NY Harriman park is also nice, 7 lakes drive. I've actually never ridden up at Bear Mt....too crowded, too many squids, from what I hear. I wouldn't mind checking it out once, though, but I have a lot of fun on the NJ/PA roads |

It was really pretty nice there and I dont remember seeing all that many bikes that day.
I think we can home via the palisades-parkway route if memory serves me |

| Re: Bear Mtn Area NY There is a really great little road up in Essex County that is well worth the short trip up there. It's Essex CR6 aka "Tracy Road"....only about 6-7 miles long, but it is a really flowing piece of riding nirvana....
Not sure where you are coming from, but here is quick map from the Ticonderoga area:
Take the Ferry from VT into NY at Ticonderoga
74 West
CR2 (Corduroy Rd.) North to Crown Point Center
CR7 North to Moriah Center
CR7A North to Witherbee
CR6 (Tracy Rd.) West
Either Take 9 South to CR4 or double back to run Tracy Road again...

second TGZ was involved in a crash this summer which he's still recovering from and has given up riding.
but maybe some other people would like to get a ride together. a bunch of us had thrown around ideas of a NE ride last winter but it never materialized. Maybe we can get a good one next summer.

| Re: Bear Mtn Area NY Hmmm...dug around in the archives, and found this snap taken at the end of Tracy Road. One of these characters is GT702....
Edit:
Before anyone asks, that is not Mick Doohan in the Stich...
