| Re: Surprise today after the 70's last week.. I almost thought you moved to St. Louis there for a second. The joke around here is, "If you don't like the weather just stick around". We went from 65F one day to snow the next just this last week. |

| Re: Surprise today after the 70's last week.. We had about an inch, but the roads were terrible. A co-worker's drive home is normally about 40 minutes and last I talked to him he was over 2 hours into his drive with about 10 miles to go. |

| Re: Surprise today after the 70's last week.. If they hadn't released the schools and closed businesses during the storm, so that the road crews would have a chance to salt/sand the roads, it would have been a non-event. But, they ****ed up and got rush hour traffic on untreated roads in the middle of the day. |

| Re: Surprise today after the 70's last week.. It is the same here Conq, we were warm as hell last week and although we missed the snow you guys got in Raleigh, it's still freezing cold and miserable with snow flurries and sleet. Great thing for me, or not. |

| Re: Surprise today after the 70's last week.. It's only 10F degrees outside right now at 11:30 in the morning. And to make it worse we're supposed to get 6-8" of snow tonight. *sigh*

| Re: Surprise today after the 70's last week.. we're suppose to get 8-12" tonight. but they said that last night so it'll probably change in the report tonight.
1 inch and some ice and you people in NC come to a halt and/or crash into each other. this wasn't the first snow you guys have gotten. I love when it snows an inch because then nobody can drive.

This was supposed to be a few flurries, so they didn't have the roads treated, or the road crews on standby. By the time they got out there, it was too late... The ground was too cold, the packed snow became ice. No matter how good of a driver you are, hills with ice are going to cause issues. |

Accidents do happen though (unless you're from MA then according to the state every accident is avoidable. thats the reasoning they used when they changed the accident report form to a crash report form). I think if more people would get some training or pracite driving on snow and ice there'd be less problems. I love sliding around and I do it on purpose, good practice for when its actually needed.

Some people are just ignorant in general of things like auto control no doubt and others are born with an ability to control and understand mechanical things. When there is no precedence set to train anyone because it never happens, what do you do then?
I know, have an 11 month riding season |
