| Re: Try again to ride? Crowded but cool. You can also stay in Cherokee on the other side of the mountain. However if your intent it to ride the Cherohala, Gap and Blue Ridge I would stay in Robbinsville NC or Telico Plains TN closer without the crowds and likely cheaper. Two wheels only is further south but well spoke of. You might also check these people I have not been by since they finished building it but the folks I real nice and ride.
I never stay as it is a day trip for me.

| Re: Try again to ride? Rode to Suches today, (Dahlonega, Suches, Morganton, Blairsville and home) about a three hundred mile run. It’s a good thing, SOB, that you decided on Saturday. There must have been two thousand bicycles on the mountain today… no exaggeration!!! http://www.dahlonega.org/aboutus.asp?id06=124&par06=23 |

Same with the Great Smokey Mtn. pkwy and Cherokee... Unless you want to go to one of these places, stay away. Bumper to bumper traffic on two lane mtn roads stinks!!!! |

Yep but I had never been over the mountain. The squid content of the gap kind of sucked also, but it was a good ride. Also had I waited I would have gotten soaked today
