I have talked with Colryn and a few others here about squids in south and central Florida. I have always felt ours were worse. I was in Orlando over the weekend while leaving a 7-Eleven up pulls about 15 or so sportbikes. About 2/3 of them no gear including helmets. Then one of the riders does probably the stupidest things I have ever seen a rider do. The place where most of the riders I know have dropped their bike at one time or another, in the gas station next to the pump he does a stoppie. Remarkable the stupid bastid didn't drop it. I took a look at the bike and in die cut decals he has SQUID on both sides of the front fairing. Guess that the decals were a warning. I think you guys win.

I am amazed and astounded every day the number of bikers without helmets. I am also ashamed as well. Everytime I ride, I feel that cagers are thinking I must do the same BS as the squids. I try to ride as safe as possible everytime I throw my leg over the seat. Back protector, gloves, armored jacket, riding boot, HELMET!!! It does not matter how hot it is outside.


Sorry you had to witness that act. All in Orlando are not that stupid.

Don't get me wrong we have our share here. We have idiots riding with one hand, holding the cell phone in the other, and all without a helmet. The only thing that blew me away was seeing the moron do a stoppie in front of the gas pump.

What you witnessed is just the icing in the cake. And the cake is as tall as the Suntrust building.

It shocks me everytime I take a ride when I witness the majority of the riders around here.
