So I hope you came through with minimal or no damage BizJetGuy? Any news from Pete and others members in the TX/LA area?

+1. I was wondering the same. I hope "PETE" was not forced to move his family into the Hummer.

"Pete"'s doing just fine. He temporarily ran out of beer, but he was able to loot some from one of his sissy-assed liberal neighbors that didn't believe in the Second Amendment.
His oil company will be gouging everyone soon enough.

We came through just fine. Lots of limbs and branches in the yard but not as much rain as we expected. We lost power sometime between 3 and 4 am but it came back on around 10am. Never lost satellite TV yet all of the neighbors with cable still don't have it back.

We had friends that live in Bayou Vista (about 5 miles from Galveston Island - first line on the mainland) staying with us during the storm and they got the "all clear" about 20 minutes after the power came back on up here. Their house was fine and they even had power.

My wife's family is a different story. Her mother lives in Port Arthur and her brother lives in Orange. Everyone got out and is ok but we have no idea what the damage impact is to the houses. It will probably take days if not weeks to find out the status.

Overall, we are very thankful and grateful. We really feel like we dodged a bullet. Thanks for your concern, thoughts, prayers and offers of shelter.

Edit: and we did start to run low on beer
