| Re: any nj riders here??? I'm closer then any of the others, I'm sure you might have seen me in town. Robbinsville here but I always ride through hamilton and trenton.
Most times I head out to PA.
As with your other post, I ride solo 60% of the time. Just get on the bike and start riding, no matter where the destination, I just start going and a few hours later is where I am.
But there are 3 groups in our area to ride with. 1 hasn't been that active but the other two is. NES out of PA isn't bad. The last ride last weekend turned out about 35 bikers split into three groups of 10-12. That was the last planned ride. There were a few things this past week going on with 3-4 bikers meeting up but nothing big.
Been out to extreme machines on 33 past hightstown? They just had a bikewash and then another event this past thursday 6pm-10pm. Its close enough that you can go - not so much for the event but to meet up with some others who ride.
Went with the third group I'm riding with to a birthday dinner at TGIF after extreme machines. About 8 bikes.
One word of advice, you need to be careful who you ride with. Not only that your a new rider, but even if you had years of riding like me. My feelings are, your chances of getting into an accident I think greatly increase if you ride in a big group. If it be your fault or somebody else.
Don't ride past you skill level. If the group is going faster then you feel comfortable riding, ride in the back. If you are losing them, let them go. Catch up with them later or if they lose you completely - ride at your own pace and find your way home.
Let everyone in your group know how long you have been riding.
Stay away from anyone being reckless.
One of the biggest complaints I have for riding with people I don't know is how close they are following me or next to me. Giving me no room to maneuver in case something happens. Thats why I always like riding in the back.
Sometimes it nice to ride with just 1 or 2 other bikers that you know and trust how they ride. Much more enjoyable then a group of 40 bikes. Or there is nothing wrong with by yourself. But as a new rider its good to have one other bike to ride with you and keep an eye on your or help you out.
Gonna rain all this week (BOOOOOOOOO) but this coming weekend will be nice and I'm sure there will be some rides forming up.
I should be on the road no matter this coming weekend. |

I had my really good friend go down in front of me going through a turn at a nice clip. It was so shocking that i am suprised I did not crash also. I was like sh@t hope he is ok and then f@*k his bike just bounced off the guardrail and almost hit me. |

| Re: any nj riders here??? Do what some of us do for safe practice and good learning. Take your bike for a track day. Pocono east or fusa is a good start. If you have some leathers already and equipment you can get a good day of track riding in for $165-$200. Would include an art basic class to help you learn more about your bike and how it can handle in turns. Its not about the speed its about knowing your bike. |

I take it you ride with Team Pro-motion? I just ran the last FUSA day in the rain and that showed me more about my bike and riding then any dry day would have. Riding in the rain was the best thing I have done since i got my bike since it gets you to be very smooth. Got me bumped from white to red that day |

Gonna call and find out tomorrow.
FUSA is through the tunnel isn't it? I have to try that once I get more practice on east first. You gonna be up on the 8th, 13th or 21st? |

| Re: any nj riders here??? No racing, just track time. And if you haven't ever been on the track before you can a free class with your track day.
If you go to east, there is only one straight away and even the advanced can only get 120-130 mph out of it before the turn. So not about speed, about learning the corners and handling your bike.
A great way to learn more about riding without traffic, cars, and you get to use the entire roadway withour worry (unlike riding on the street). Team Pro-Motion Sportbike Club |

You gonna be up on the 8th, 13th or 21st? | No more days for me this season I have to finish fixing the house and my wife is due in Oct with our first child so I need to be some what local just in case bc I know if I was at the track and she went into labor she would kill me and no more track days. Just kidding... I would just hate myself if I was not there for her when my little girl does come.
FUSA does not go through any tunnel but it uses the NASCAR back straight with a nice 2nd gear right hander at the end. |
