I dont think I can make it much past Missouri. With my job the Air Force doesnt like me being gone to long so anything to far east is out of the question for me.

Maybe you'll have better luck making the Gap trip if we have this nailed down by say January. Put the request in and that should leave them plenty of time to approve it.
I think Loopy is right and I'm gonna go ahead and nail down Deals Gap as the location. At this point I'll just keep the time frame poll open and work on an exact week that we'll do it.
Looking forward to seeing you all out there ... (great .. now I really HAVE to finish off the replica build project so I'm not borrowing a bike to do this!!)

Has nothing to do with approval and everything to do with the fact that I am the only one in the 388th that does my job. One of the draw backs of a one deep position I guess. So maybe next year we can do it in the middle somewhere to accomodate everyone.
Wow it is almost 1900 miles from here.
how strict are you going to be on the bike being a fireblade. If there is any chance I can get away then i would like to bring a couple buddys from here and they do not have blades.

Might be good to do a poll for Deal's vs summit county CO. I know Deal's gap is too far for me.

Yeah .. Deals Gap is already an 8+ hour hike for me so that pretty much rules out CO coming from the east coast.
I would suggest starting a new thread for those not on the east coast or surrounding areas.

Monkey,
I have 3 or 4 local guys here that are planning a trip to the dragon this summer too. Maybe we can work it all in at the same time. They usually go every year. So count me in!!
Sounds like we need another TEA PARTY !!! Hoovy

FYI- The Subaru group plans to be out there May 7th-9th. We had been using Fontana Resort for a few years. this year we are moving the accomodations to Pigeon Forge and making trips down to that area. Should we all be there during the same time, we are adamant about keeping to our side of the road and no line crossing will be tolerated during our group drives. Those who do, are called out for their actions. If this falls during the same time, I may have to bring the bike along and meet up with you as well.

What about St. Patty's Day Weekend in Myrtle Beach, SC at either the Board Walk or Barefoot Landing?
I would also be down for The GAP in June, or Biketober Fest in Daytona......
Or All three

I'd be up for Deals Gap also. My 954 is almost roadworthy and I'm in Northern Virginia. None of my friends have bikes. |
