Re: Naults Honda/Ducati

I'm looking to have a custom map done for my 929, and Naults is listed as a Dynojet Tuning Center. Most other places even remotely close to me that are tuning centers aren't Honda places. That may or may not matter, depending on the shop. I've had good recommendations for places that are far away! Just seeing if there's anything closer before I consider the really far away ones!

Re: Naults Honda/Ducati

They don't necessarily need to be a Honda shop as they need to know where you put the PC and that you left they keys with the bike!

True enough, although they need to know the proper A/F. You're in NJ...have you had yours custom mapped anywhere?

HGT, who was the guy doing tech at the REDUC reunion? He has a shop here in Allentown and has a Dyno-Jet dyno. I'm not sure of his level of expertise but you could call and ask. I think his name was Chris ________ . Cannot, for the life of me, think of his shops name.

I bought 2 bikes from them so far. Good service and people, not sure about their dyno capabilites though. But I do reccomend them for service/purchasing a bike. You could always find out from first hand experience then tell the rest of us how it went, hopefully good, cause they are right down the road from me and I may be looking into it after/if I get a full exhaust

Yeah, thanks, I've talked with Chris (ProFab is the name of his shop). He has a dyno, but he doesn't do any custom mapping at all. He doesn't have the software or anything. The closest in PA is Fast By Ferracci. They do Ducatis and Aprilias...don't know about Hondas, but I do know someone who works there that I can ask.

If I go there, I'll let you know how it goes. I just looked at Dynojet's site again, and although they are listed as an approved tuning center, they don't have the Tuning Link Software, unless they've gotten it recently.

Re: Naults Honda/Ducati

Naults Manchester has the correct Dynojet setup to custom map the PCIII's, I believe. I know for a fact that Naults Windham Does not have the ability to correctly map them. I had mine mapped at the Windham Naults and the bike ran crappy afterwards. I did gain 2hp on the top end, but that was the only place the bike was tuned....WFO. Everywhere else in the power band the bike was twitchy and bogging down in low RPMS. The tech "Re-mapped" it by playing with the rough settings you can do with the low-mid-high buttons on the front. He said thats how you fine tune them.....err.....no. I even called up Kyle at Dynojet to confrim this...he laughed. Naults manchester is a Correct dynojet tuner, I'll be going there this spring to get my bike sorted once and for all.

Re: Naults Honda/Ducati

Thanks, Sirkbac. The Manchester shop is the one the Dynojet site lists. Looking at that site, though, it says they have the latest dyno, the 250, but they do not have the tuning link software. Maybe that's changed, but I'd ask to see if they have that.
I think I've found a place on Long Island called Powerhouse Motorcycles that seems like they know what they're doing. I posted a question on their website's forum and they replied right away. I called and spoke with the guy. I'll probably take it there. A lot closer for me, too! They have all the latest equipment and software and will map from 2% to 100% throttle. His experience is that the best A/F for 929s is 13.1-13.2, which is close to Dan's recommended 12.8-13.1. He said after getting a good straight line, with 100% throttle at 13.1, they'd move it between 12.8 and 13.4 and see where it made the best power, leaving it at 13.1 if that was it, or moving it accordingly. They'll block the pair valve. He was glad I went with the Arata, he said they're good but he hasn't seen too many and is interested in how much it'll put out. Pleasant guy to deal with and will do it while I wait, since I don't live close. He'd prefer the outside temps get into the 40s, though. If you or anyone is interested in his repies to my questions, go to www.fastcycles.com and look under "power board".

Re: Naults Honda/Ducati

I'll check with Naults Manchester to see if they have the software or not, otherwise I may end up at the same place you do.
