| XM Radio Did a search on this, most of what I found was from last year...
Which receivers do you guys have? Are they flaky? Are you happy with the service/quality/variety of the stations? |

Every time I turn the thing on, or switch to a different station it's some numbnuttz DJ talking about how bad his sex life is, or how screwed up this world is, or how stupid politicians are, or....you get the point. Or how about the latest energy drink that's gonna get you two chicks at the same time. If it's not that, it's the same song being played over and over and over. |

| Re: XM Radio Local radio sucks here too. To many commercials and talking and not enough music
Only thing is if XM is anything like the music channels on digital cable I am not so sure how good it will be. If you like rock lets say its a mix of all types of rock not just what you would be looking for |

| Re: XM Radio I have sirius in my jeep. No commercials, a whole lot of channels, all the nfl games broadcast live. I got a free satellite receiver and antenna when I bought my clarion radio from crutchfield so I gave it a try. I like it. It was great while driving to Michigan because I didn't have to keep searching for a new channel every 50 miles. No problems. Haven't dealt with the portable units yet.

| Re: XM Radio Carsound magazine just did a long term review of XM and Sirius. 6 people were given sattelite radio, 3 XM, 3 Sirius. All of them virtually abandoned FM and CD's. After 3 months, the services were switched. After 6 months, all 6 wanteed the Sirius subscription and 4 of the 6 stated Sirius sounded better, the other 2 had no preference. All 6 voted Sirius' content superior.
If sports are your thing, Sirius broadcasts NFL, NBA and NHL games while XM has Nascar.
All 6 people in the study now have Sattelite radio subscriptions, they were spread around the country and the test subscriptions were paid and the providers had no idea tehy were being evaluated. |

You have ebery kind of music you want to listen to. 60's, 70's, 80's, Elvis, jazz, blues, clasical, hip-hop, rap, alternative, country, soul, and so on. There are so many stations to choosefrom that i know I will never be without> Probably never buy a Cd too. |

| Re: XM Radio I've got it set up on the VFR and CBR. It is absolutley fantastic. Words can not describe the great feeling of having 100 channels of things to listen to while in the Nevada desert. I would HIGHLY recommened it, and one you get one, you have to get it everywhere.
Currently I have it (all using one receiver):
On the VFR (car kit)
On the CBR (car kit)
In my car (car kit)
In my office (home kit)
In my house (Delphi Boombox)
It really is plug and play.
To check on the install I did on my VFR (the CBR is pretty much the same concent): http://www.rjmcomputers.com/xminstall
Let me know if you have any other questions |

The XM "variety content" such as all the rebroastcasts of CNN, ESPNEWS have the same amount of commercials as Sirius.
Inhouse XM variety channels (XM Kids, XM Comedy, etc) have less than 4 minutes of commercials per hour. |
