I about pooped myself when I saw these photos on another board. I know the bike will do well into the 180's stock, but can't say I've ever seen what appears to be proof outside magazine tests and whatnot.

I owned a 60c for a short time and I am no means an expert on GPS. Anyone with experience with these GPS units tell me if you can alter the display somehow? Conq, isn't this the exact model you've got up for sale?

Well the bike will certainly do it, I'm just surprised anyone would be dumb enough to stretch its legs unless they were on a dry lake bed or some such place.

They can sometimes "glitch" if they lose signal. Mine showed in the 190's once when I had the 929.

Also sometimes the government applies a bit of noise, however I do not think they have used this 'feature' in a while.

Maybe took it in a plane with them as well. Thats about the right speed for a decent twin engine...

That could be the case. Mine said 483mph at one time and of course was after a flight.

I dunno about fudging numbers, other than photoshop, but I use a 2620 in my 2004 Freightliner, and I have had it showing 360 MPH... you read that right, 360 MPH. I can only figure that it was caused by the wild rocking that can occure on some rough roads, as I have my antenna mounted outside my mirror.

If you are in an area with tree cover or other obstructions, GPS speed figures can get way off. I've seen triple digit max speeds that I never came close to approaching all the time. It's not very useful. Also depending on the software version in the GPS receiver it may be off. I had trouble with a certain release of software for my GPS and until Garmin updated it, the max speed was always way off.

Kidding aside bubba, it is nice indeed to have an "analog" fuel gauge, especially on a tourer.

My bike has both a gauge and a low fuel warning light as a redundant feature. A clock and twin trip odometers which automatically figure your gas mileage as well...it's a pretty decent setup for trips.

Being in the satellite tracking game ... its called 'spam positioning' (like in junk(mail)).
1) Calculation was done on less than 3 birds hense the fault factor (old selective availability) is larger than normal, or,
2) Bird started moving for some reason (like being relocated to Iraq), and it did not "broadcast" its "I'm moving, ignore me please" signal when the reading (its timecode) was used to calculate.

Can't always count on those. Heck, my mileage varies wildly depending on what sort of riding I'm doing and if, for instance, I'm way up in the moutains v. slabbing along the plains.
