Re: mounting gps on 954?

I've used a RAM mount on the pinch bolt on the clip-ons on every Honda I've had so far. Worked great on all of em.

Here's the RAM base alone, on the left:

StreetPilot III on the 02 XX

1000RR
Didn't get a pic of the GPS on the 1000RR, but you can see the RAM base on the left: http://www.fireblades.org/gallery/sh...p?i=4548&c=578

StreetPilot III on the VFR

eMap on the XR400R - Used a "clamp" base on the bars for this one.

For power, I usually use the Garmin hardwire kit, and solder some eyelets onto it to attach it directly to the battery. Some people like to tap into the headlight power so that the GPS goes off when the bike is off, but I prefer the direct route.

Re: mounting gps on 954?

Here's the kit. You'll want the Short Arm (1 3/4"), and the RAM11M base.

Re: mounting gps on 954?

What Conq said, HondaGal has a similar set up on her 954 for GPS and/or satellite radio. The ram mounts from cycle gadgets are the way to go!
I'll try to snap some pics of her bike later today. I think she attached the ram mount to the bolts that hold on the throttle housing.

Re: mounting gps on 954?

I am picking up the Garmin SP530 soon and all this info has been very helpful. I am going to use the stock mounting base in the car to swap the unit around when needed.
