| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? I have a trick I use for to keep my ear buds in position when putting my helmet on. Not much of a secret, but flip them up put the cord over the top of your ear. Also silk helmet liners are great to keep them in place for long rides prevents them from vibrating loose over time.
May Favorite set are Bose TriPort IE $99 bucks at Brookstone. |

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? over the summer i got a $20 dollar pair of skull candy "smokin buds". they were my favorite sounding so far (very clear, strong treble and bass but neither overpowering the other. no tin can sound. no boom tube sound. wonderful balance and clarity and you could crank them and retain the quality sound) but eventually i guess a wire got loose and they quit working. i suspect that it was the stupid volume control they put halfway up the wire. headphones dont usually need volume control. the device they plug into covers that. now i have a similar pair of sony's (the rubber ear pieces from my skull candys fit the sonys) they sound good and clear but a little short on bass and volume compared to the candy. |

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? i tried every single pair of headphones in radio shack in one stopping. the sonys sounded the best in the shack but i even tried to give those back. the dude was like "your killin me here" and i took them. literally i tried every pair that was a bud type. best sound so far was $20 skull candy from staples |

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? Uncle Jesse, I've never tried the skull candies, but I used to use the sonys and loved them. Having said that, I've just got back from Singapore where I bought a set of Sennhauser's. These things were expensive, around 120 singapore dollars, but they're awsome. Absolutely no contact with the sides of the helmet (Shoei Z4) and the sound quality is spot-on. At least 50% better than my old sonys. Well, it's a thought... |

Can't beat em for $10

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? Get custom ones and they are low-profile and you can even take the helmet off and they stay in and are much more comfortable and they block the harmful noise. |

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? K not to resurrect an old thread, but the JVC marshmallows are pretty good. I've used them when riding and studying and they works great as earplugs with or without music. |

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? First post so here it goes.... This is a big subject for me. I want to protect my hearing AND listen to music. A couple of posters mentioned that they tried many different ones before finding the right pair. It's hard to find the right ones for sure!! Anyway, i had a pair of the Koss ones, best at keeping out the noise, great sound and incredibly cheap. Then the foam was getting crusty and radio shack stopped carrying them. went to FYE and found Skullcandy "INKD" earphones. $10.00 and i put them in and rode home. 15 miles and it was the quietest best sounding ride i have ever had. That was in september of last year and they are still perfect....except the helmet popping them out sometimes. didnt mean to go on but that is my .02
BTW nothing like some Audioslave in crystal clear stereo with the 929 doing above leagal speeds. |

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? I used the ear buds for about a week now. They have great clarity, but not too much bass.
They also work very well at blocking out other noises. It's like wearing earplugs. The wind noise was almost eliminated.
Too bad though. I forgot to put them in my pocket when stopping and they dragged into my chain and I lost one ear bud. I still rode with only one the next day.
Were they on sale at Target? |

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? I did 130 on the new wheels today with the buds in and they worked just fine. I actually didnt hear much of the music, but it was plenty loud enough.
Curt: I don't know if it was a sale or not, but for $15, I wasnt too concerned. Definately good buy for the price |

| Re: whats your favorite ear phone? Yeah for $15 I should go and buy another pair.
Anyone have any luck with other cheap ear buds like the skull candy?
It seems like every other headphone set I have had in the past had better bass. Maybe it's b/c I've never used a headphone that actually goes into the ear canal. I suppose the drivers have to be so small that they can't produce much bass. |
