| Bullet Cam on '94 Foxeye Blade In May I'm taking a trip over to the Nurburgring on my '94 Foxeye Blade with 9 or so friends.
I've done quite a few trips over there on bikes and in cars, but never filmed any of my laps - something I'd like to do this time around.
As you may know, you are not allowed to video your laps around there, so I would need to mount a my small bullet cam somewhere discreet.
Has anyone got any ideas/experience of where one would mount and not be too visible but still give a good view?
So far I have come up with 2 possibilities, but not really looked in enough detail to see how practical/possible they are.
1) Behind the headlight glass. As you look at the front of the bike there is some black plastic surrounding the 2 headlights, in the upper left and right 'corners' of this i think there is space to neatly drill a hole and mount the camera.
2) In the air vents. On the upper sections of the front fairing there are 2 air vents (1 either side of the bike). Both sides are covered by the fairing infill panels, one side covers the fuses, the other i think just covers the electrical connections for the indicators.
Any opinions and suggestions would be welcomed!
Cheers,
Craig. |

| Re: Bullet Cam on '94 Foxeye Blade Would look quite good if you could mount it under the headlamp/top of the mudguard...
Depends how secretive you want to be.
Also think about how you want the camera to film e.g. if you put it on your helmet, your head will probably be moving quite a bit so the quality might not be all that... If you put it onto your bike (as in fixed position), it will only film what way the bike is facing... if you put it onto your mudguard for example (not sure if its possible) but the camera would film the way the wheel would be facing e.g. the full track.
I hope that makes sense.

| Re: Bullet Cam on '94 Foxeye Blade I'm pretty restricted to my view to be honest. As I say there is a 'no camera' rule at the Nurburgring so whatever I do it needs to be hidden from a quick look over the bike - hence my thinking about behind the headlight/in the air scoop.
Out of interest, have you tried mounting to the mudguard? Not sure how much you'd get from there bearing in mind you turn out of a corner to go into it. I know it's only a small amount but surely that would mean in left handers the cam would be pointing out to the right and vice-versa...? |

| Re: Bullet Cam on '94 Foxeye Blade If the camera is small you could remove the little sidelight from the front (above the main lights and centre) and mount the camera behind perhaps....
May wish to fabricate a cover perhaps and the camera would need to fit between the wiring harness behind.... |

| Re: Bullet Cam on '94 Foxeye Blade How big exactly is the bullet camera?
I haven't added a camera to my bike yet - not sure if I ever will but you never know - so I cannot confirm about the mudguard but I still think beneath the headlamp section (so it would be above the downpipes etc) you might be able to tuck it away...

| Re: Bullet Cam on '94 Foxeye Blade Old I know, but it's only mid May, camera on front mudguard. It's a pinhole lipstick camera, the size of a lipstick (probably!) and as it's pinhole the front is conical so it doesn't look like a camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL4CzFgtq4c
I would mount the camera on the underside of the fairing, above the mudguard, even less conspicuous and less vibration as it's on the suspension side! Camera is on the tank in a mini-tankbag, along with the mic and bullet camera batteries, it's so small that they don't care. Not used it at the ring, but got the idea from there a couple of years ago! |

Here another from the ring. This time from Performance bikes...looks like they put this camera under the nose cone. |
