| Re: HID Suggestion absolutely love mine.. i did NOT get the slim ballasts though and had a real pain making them fit. but i went with a company through ebay, for $68 including free shipping i got the 55w 6000k bulbs and love them.. light output is great and i wouldn't go back for anything.. search around and you'll find a great deal. you shouldn't have any trouble fitting them in your side panels on your 929 though.. good luck.. |

| Re: HID Suggestion Thanks for the response ldavis, sounds like your happy with the product. $68 sounds like a damn good price. So your fitment issue was more of the location of your bulb inlet and not the size of the ballasts? Just wanted to get clarification on that. Also what hue is the light that is cast?
Thanks again. I'll look on ebay and see what kind of deals they have.

| Re: HID Suggestion no my problem was with the ballasts.. they were pretty big for the space that i had to work with. my hue is slightly blue but more white. 5000k should be WHITE and 4000k will be yellowish.. close to stock color but with much higher output. i love the looks of the 6000k.. |

| Re: HID Suggestion 6000k hands down looks the best, but the color doesn't illuminate very well. A 55W kit would probably solve that problem. Although a 5000k kit is the best of both worlds, a nice pretty color, but still illuminates everything very well.
Note: the higher the color temp, then the less light output. Also, the higher the color temp, the harder it is to see things because of the color. So it's twice the problem when you go up in color temp.
ie- My old RC51 had 35W 5000k HID's and would light up almost a quarter mile with both lights on. Then I tried out 8000k bulbs. Both beams weren't nearly as bright as only the low beam with the 5000k's. |

| Re: HID Suggestion I got a set of two 5000K for $105 shipped and split the cost with my buddy. They have the newer slim ballasts. I had no trouble fitting them in under my speedo.
The color is white and really improves night time drivablity. My girlfriend drove behind me a few nights after I first installed them and said I lit up 4 lanes brightly.
Keep in mind that since the bikes are not designed for HID, they will blind people. My car with HID has strict cutoff on the top end of the light that doesn't allow them to blind people. When I turn the car on,the lights adjust up then down finding the perfect level. It's pretty cool to watch. There is a perfect horizontal cutoff on the top half of whatever they are shining on. There is no such cut off when the HID's are installed on the bike. |
