Best grip heaters - Suggestions

What are the best grip heaters for the Fireblade? Honda does not offer any heaters for the Fireblade.

Yesterday I drove 140 miles in cold climate. Temperature was just over 32 F. All the lakes seems to be still under ice layer. I take that notice when I was driving with my Blade. When I'm driving my car I don't even notice that. Cold climate is not otherwice any problem. Only my fingers dosn't like climate that cold. I have to wait that I can take my swimming suit with me for the rides. It takes to the june that all lakes are unfrozen.

Now I have to warm up my hands by pushing my fingers throught holes of a side covers. I have to wait that the radiator fan starts. It dosn't take long time to unfreeze my fingers by doing that. That is good way to warm up my fingers.

Goldwing would work, but I had no problems on my GSAdv in the cold. I rode to work at 12 degrees F this year.

Biggest problem with the blade, or any other sport-bike is that you don't get a lot of wind protection.

The heated grips work great, but almost as important are the guards in front that keep the wind off my hands.

There are a couple of different types of heated grips out there. Try looking on the Goldwing or ST-1300 boards. Those guys use them often. You may be able to install the same grips.

Another option is a heated jacket and/or glove liners. Sometimes you can plug the gloves into the sleeves of the jacket. I love my Gerbing gear.

You'll just need to make sure that your bike's electrical system can handle the load.

Do anyone know what are the dimensions of the handlebars? Are all the dimensions same in both sides. I don't wanna take the grip's off just to get measured diameter and other dimensions of the handlebar.

If the generator of my bike have not power enought, I have to install a more power.

Maybe just a little trailer and THIS!
Honda (UK) - Generators

How much is power output of the RR8 generator?

All handlebars are the same size EXCEPT for the Goldwing and HD's. When you buy your grips, it'll specify if it's for one of those. But make sure you don't get a kit for ATV's. That kit won't fit over your throttle tube.

As far as I remember, the Fireblade has a 450W alternator. That's more than enough for heated grips, heated jacket, and pants. The most I really see for grips is around 60W during startup, then from 15-40 depending on temperature desired.

I use this set here:
http://www.louis.de/_4025db4fc1b0ff2..._gr=10 032048

And it works good. I had the same exact kit on my old RC, and never had any problems for 20000 miles.

Just remember before you can install the RHS, you have to cut/trim a plastic lip off the throttle tube or the grip can only go on about 85% of the way.

For grip glue, just find a can of the cheapest, stickest hairspray you can find.

My bud put the heated grips from Honda on his ST-1300.

Honda Genuine Accessories - Honda Powersports

He really liked them. I was impressed by the switch. It's a push-button that lights up with the level of heat.

Very professional/factory looking when installed correctly.
