| Speedo Cluster needs mileage correction??? So when I picked up my new (used) speedo, the guy said he'd change the mileage for me to meet my same mileage from my crashed out old one.
Got the speedo but it shows 31k miles on the clock. Normally not a big deal but my bike only has 7122 on it. Truly. (I kept my old one until I can get the new one corrected.) I have heard of people that know how to do it or where to send it off to have it done.
I am not trying to fraud anyone as Bad Karma always comes back ten times.
I just want my speedo to reflect a mileage that my rig really has.
If you feel like you can't reply here please PM me.
Thanks guys,
Ivan |

| Re: Speedo Cluster needs mileage correction??? You can get people who "Correct Mileage". Basically you are just "clocking" back the miles.
Have a look in the local directory/yellow pages etc. Make sure you tell them its a bike (and its digital)

I know this is how it is on cars thus to prevent the ole roll the miles back trick. |

| Re: Speedo Cluster needs mileage correction??? Not come across one of those before - I had to get a replacement set for my Hornet - the mileage was recorded on the clocks itself and therefore my new set came as 000000.
The 954RR is the same, as with a lot of digital speedos in cars etc.

| Re: Speedo Cluster needs mileage correction??? Huh every car I have owned had the miles stored in at least two sperate places.
If you swap the dash it like I did in my VW it just goes back to whats stored in the car.
What year was your Hornet? |

What year was your Hornet? | Hornet is a late 2005 model...
So from what you are saying, if you were to remove the dash then the mileage would "reset" and adapt to the new mileage?
What VW have you changed it on?
I have heard of some cars' mileages being saved into the ECU AND also on the dash although the dashes only display what mileage the dash has recorded - not what the ECU has. (This is where you can link it up to a machine and see if it links up)

| Re: Speedo Cluster needs mileage correction??? VW jette 01 it's stored in the ecu and someplace else.
My beemer was the same way.
My speedo cluster was fek on the VW got a new one slapped it in and back to the correct miles.
My beemer swapped it, as soon as I hooked it back up, the miles was right on. |

| Re: Speedo Cluster needs mileage correction??? I was hoping for the ECU to send the correct info to but knew it wouldn't.
Plugged the "new" one in and boom 31k miles...

Pay a little extra and get the job done properly.
