cbr 600 temperature woes

HI, I have the problem that the clocks on my CBR600 2008 model gives an incorrect reading. When the motor is running my temperature reading is irradicate jumping in between 10-20 degrees celcius when running. The correct temperature is however displayed when switching off at the emergency kill swich but leaving the ignition on. Thermometer/thermostat checks out 100% within spec. Reading only wrong when engine is running. PLEASE HELP

Re: cbr 600 temperature woes

this is normal, when running the waterpump is circulating the coolant, when it gets hot, say 20c it opens the thermostat which will drop the temp to about 10c, then the thermostat closes and the temp rises again...all normal if the fan is coming on and off and your not pouring coolant all over the street, your good.

Hi the temperature is overstated by the clocks when the motor is runnng: eg. when the fan kicks in at 106degrees celcius, the clocks display 125 degrees celcius which is overheating and the overheating lamp coms on. When however the motor is stopped but the ignition is kept on, the clocks displays instantly the correct temperature of 106 degrees celcius. There can not be a jump of almost 20 degrees celcius, the temperature should drop away with a couple of degrees per minute. I have somekind of interferance when the motor is running?
