'79 CM185T winker issues!!!!!

Ok, so im 99.99% complete bringing this 185 back from the dead and I noticed that the left side blinkers take about 10 seconds to start working after you move the switch...and if it ever starts to work, the blinking is very sporadic...often times weak and inconsistent. Its especially temperamental if im idling or at high rev's; it just wont work. Interesting thing is, if i disconnect one of the left side blinkers(via the front OR back, not both at the same time), it works PERFECTLY but both need to be in, and it wont work properly like that.
Ive come too far to leave it as it is. Im going to make it 100.00% complete.

Any ideas guys?

try checking the chassis grounds and also check that you have the right wattage bulbs in them....

sorry to hi-jack. Funny to see that indicators are called winkers/blinkers in the States. In SA we call them flickers

Re: '79 CM185T winker issues!!!!!

JetPilot07,
I know ground is OK. The right side rear blinker shares the same grounding wire with the troubled left side blinker.

Another thing i noticed last night was when I disconnected the rear blinker ground and flicked the switch, the front right blinker was a steady light.
but, when i repeated this on the left side, the front flashed normally.
Im thinking the left blinker signal cable is grounded somewhere between the two lights.
Im gunna check grounding issues today if weather clears.

PS: heres a link for a diagram I found; I also traced out my winker routes and connections.
