| UK Riders... Proposed Road Tax Increases For BIkes.. To all Uk riders.....
Mr. Darling aims to double the cost of road tax on motorcycles in 2009, and there is an online petition to protest against it.. I dont know if adding our names will make much of a difference to the proposals, but hey its got to be worth a shot....
Here is the link... Petition to: Stop penalising Motorcyclists with unfair increases in Road Tax. |

| Re: UK Riders... Proposed Road Tax Increases For BIkes.. Isnt that just tipical of this lot,we generaly do more mpg than cars,we produce less polution than cars ,we cause less congestion than cars and we certainly dont do as much damage to the highways and byways as cars.We have some of the poorest roads in europe as theres little maintainance done and to cap it all we have almost the highest gas prices in the world($10 gallon).Just how much more tax do they think that were prepared to pay?
Rant over. |

| Re: UK Riders... Proposed Road Tax Increases For BIkes.. Ok.. It's official.. I'm confused...
There I was, surfing the web and gathering data to write an entry (RANT ) for my blog and I came across this... Quote: Vehicle excise duty (VED) Changes to this year’s VED rates will take effect from 1 April 2009. VED rates for motorbikes, Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), Special Types Vehicles, Combined Transport vehicles and all related vehicles will be frozen in 2009. Motorbikes and Heavy Goods Vehicles Vehicle Excise Duty for Motorcycles: 2009-10 rates VED band 2009-10 rate Up to 150cc......£15 151-400cc........£33 401-600cc........£48 Over 600cc.......£66 | I found it here. Its the 2008 pre-budget report and is available from the hmrc.gov.uk website
So does this mean it's not going up after all?? |
