| Coming to Europe this summer to ride ---Any Suggestions? Hi Everyone,
I am heading to Western Europe to ride your beautiful roads for the first 2 weeks in July. Here is where I am heading from:london, england to:paris, to:Lyon to:grenoble to:45.792664,6.959152 to:A5 @45.702762, 7.141745 to:19 @46.320280, 7.988510 to:2 @46.666550, 8.592450 to:A2 @46.526760, 8.606680 to:A13 @46.847450, 9.504560 to:B174/Egger-Lienz-Straße @47.257570, 11.
I really am no good at the maplinks at all. Anyways I am renting from a place called Raceways in London, does anyone have previous experience with this company?
What I am really asking is if anyone has any good suggestions on basic things about riding in Europe and the UK that I might not know living in Canada. I lived in NZ and Australia for a year so I know how to drive on the wrong side of the road, JK , but am a little leary about riding out of London and around Paris. If anyone has suggestions about this I would appeciate it greatly. Also if anyone knows of any really good roads that I am missing and am close to on the map I would love it.
Thanks |

Thanks | Yep, lot's more cars then in Canada and you might want to drive over the Gross Glockner. Check the Alps thread in this forum. |

| Re: Coming to Europe this summer to ride ---Any Suggestions? Your line goes almost right over the top of Nurburgring. It is open to the public most days for a fee of about 15 euros per lap. I wanted to go when I was in Germany in March but it was snowing and I ran out of time.
Apart from that I also notice that you are going through Koln (Cologne) and Ulm. You should definitely check out the Koln Dom and Ulmer Munster. Two huge, beautiful old cathedrals, you can walk (climb stairs) to the top of both of them. IMO it is well worth the time, amazingly beautiful architechture. There are also a lot of super cool castles near your route including Neuschwantein which is absolutely amazing. |

| Re: Coming to Europe this summer to ride ---Any Suggestions? I will be on a touring bike as the place I am renting from won't let any bike without a shaft go to the continent. So I don't know how much fun the ring will be. I will definitly be hitting up some castles on my way around it all.
FB thanks for the info on the Gross Glockner. Looked it up and I don't think I will be missing any of that action if I can. Might add a few hours, but probably worth it. |

| Re: Coming to Europe this summer to ride ---Any Suggestions? Hi Roughneckin
when you reach Grenoble it would be a crime not to ride the N85 Route Napoleon down to the South of France then ride the Cote d'Azur all the way into Italy and pick up your original route from there.
Cheers D |
