A track day on a weekend (if they do them) is another option.. Quote:

| Re: 2010 Fireblades.Org UK Meet... My suggestion would be travel to wherever on Friday eve (Hull seems popular.... ), all-day rideout on Saturday, out Saturday for food and drinks, short ride Sunday am, lunch then head home.
Or to make it shorter & cheaper (1 night only), meet Sat lunch time, rideout Sat afternoon, and then the same as above.
I'm not opposed to going to a race, I've been to a couple and they're a good day out - but TBH I'm not a race fan -I prefer riding to watching others do it. If it is racing, there's always BSB races too, they would probably offer more options for where to meet up. (All racing looks the same to me... ) |

Presumably it's too early at the moment I know the dates for the Bulldog Bash but personally would prefer a smaller show/event... |

| Re: 2010 Fireblades.Org UK Meet... Been thinking about this...
Now if we go with Destructo's idea.. Quote:
My suggestion would be travel to wherever on Friday eve (Hull seems popular.... ), all-day rideout on Saturday, out Saturday for food and drinks, short ride Sunday am, lunch then head home.
| Then all we would need to do it pick a place (preferably where all the good roads aren't crawling with plod, speed cameras, etc) and book a travel inn/b & b/hotel* and bobs your uncle weekend sorted Lots of riding in the day and beer/food/giggles and laughs in the evening
We could try for a show/event but I don't think that dates are gonna be confirmed until next year so it will delay organising things..
I don't know if going out of the country would be a good idea, not everyone is flush and if the weekend costs too much it might put people off.. *I'm thinking I should take deposits for rooms next time though. We had a number of last minute no shows who had booked rooms and if things hadn't panned out as they did (me cancelling rooms with minutes to spare) I would have had to pay for the unused rooms myself.. If peeps aren't happy with this idea please let me know.. |

The most important thing is good roads
If I were you, I would definitely be taking deposits! Or better still, just post up the hotel details and let people book their own, that'll save you any potential problems then (that's what I would prefer TBH, if I were organising an event). |

| Re: 2010 Fireblades.Org UK Meet... I had a weekend in Wales this year that was good - we stayed in Rhyader, pretty much in the middle of Wales - the room rates were pretty good there and the rooms were more than OK as well. There are some decent roads in Wales too. |

| Re: 2010 Fireblades.Org UK Meet... Brilliant roads but beware the plod's prescence is everywhere, I was followed to the Shropshire boarder by a cop (6th sense kicked in when he sat behind me on an unmarked Busa) as soon as we got to Shropshire he turned at the first island and headed back to Wales.
Good cafe and bike meet on Horseshoe pass - bikers meeting place. |
