Hi Guys,

been a while....

Hey, just wondering if anyone knows if a front wheel off a CBR1100XX would fit straight into my CBR954RR ?

I've checked part numbers - and their different, but the wheels themselves don't look that different - maybe the disc rotor mount points or hub/spacer relationship perhaps ??

Many thanks, Spanky.

Ok here is the deal. I am rebuilding my 929 and it wont be ready for riding season. With that I have thought about buying another bike to ride until my bike is done.

I have looked at all makes and models and once again have came back to the honda family.

*Here is the 1st bike *

*2003 Honda RC51 (red/silver paint) 11,900 miles local to my city and state.*

*Comes with both seats (racing cowl and pass seat)*

*Shop manual on PDF (from the orig owner)*

*Frame sliders (done right)*

*full micron dual exhaust. (What is the actual value of this)*

*Power Commander III and all CD's plus the Map to the bike. ( what is the actual value of this)*

*under tail with intergrated break and turn singles *

*Flush mount turn singals*

*red painted wheels *

*HID bulbs (no not a HID kit) *

*tax title lisc everything 5,600.00 (I write a check for that amount) *

*Here is the 2nd bike *

*2003 Honda RC51 (red/silver paint) 12,200 miles came from ohio *

*Stock ehaust. *

*Will have flush mounted turn signals *

*Will have under tail with intergrated break light and turn singals*

*Reg light bulbs *

*Reg wheels *

*Tax title everything 5,800.00 (I write a check for that amount)*

Both bikes are one owner from the looks never been down. I have listened to both of them run and they sound fine.

Now I like the sales guy who has the 2nd bike better. I know a few people who bought bikes from the guy who helped me they were happy with there purchase. And said the sales guy will go out of his way to get decent discounts on parts ect.

But the 1st guy while being up front honest and helpful was the only one there when I went there today. Also they would have no problem re dyno and mapping the bike while I was there after I bought it. I will admit the mods on the 1st bike have been done by either a pro shop or the guy had a pro shop set up at his house.

Here is my delima I have never owned a V-twin and have heard that the only way to purchase one is to get one stock So I am a bit leery on the 1st one just based on that. Also I heard cant confirm that putting the HID bulbs on with out the correct kit could melt the plastic around the housing and or ruin the wire harness? Is that true?

Aftermarket Fuel pressure regulator??

Does anybody have a cure for the fuel pressure regulator on a 954? I am at 20,000 miles and I have had 4 of them on the bike. My last one failed after just 700 miles:eek: . I would like to go with an aftermarket set up if one is available. I was told that maybe the fuel pump was putting out too much pressure and maybe this is causing the failure. BUT I do not want to fork out 300.00 for the fuel pump unit to find out it is not the issue.

Somebody help me!

Re: Electrical problems- Duh, who put the lights out?

Question: am I posting the right way? Just trying to start a thread about electrical/head light problems.

If this is the right place, here goes. Six months ago, after a track day, I re-connected my headlights, and 2 blew, then after testing/switching them around, the 3rd bulb blew.
Got new bulbs (left out low beam bulb) and everything fine for 4 months. Til a few weeks ago. Turned key, no headlights. All bulbs (filaments) intact. Tried replacing bulbs, but no luck. Makes cliking sound at the rear cowl, specifically, the hind-most starter relay.

(May be unrelated, but back in Sept/Oct, 4th gear stopped engaging. Then in November I went down (rear tire spin in 30 degree weather :crap: ), and the odometer/speedometer stopped working.)

Checked out all the wires I could. Regulator rectifier and wires into area in front of battery all looked good. No melted wires.

Stinks to not be able to ride at all. Any ideas?
Thanks.

FS: VFR 800 Complete Single Sided Swingarm

I bought it and I have no time to do anything with it. I believe it came from an 01 VFR 800 but from what I understand it will fit any 800. Also good for a 900RR or 919 swap. Comes complete with brake, lines, swinger, wheel, hub, rotor, sprocket, pivot bolt, shock, chain guard, rear MC.

I'll answer any questions I can, but I'm not a honda owner and don't know much about it. I bought it for a Yamaha project I had going but I just don't have time for it anymore. Don't mean to join just to post a for sale but I was told that this would be the place that most people would be interested.

If you're worried about buying from someone with no posts, you can find me at • Index page (http://fzronline.com/forum) under the same name. I'm near Chicago and local pickup is completely welcome. Paypal is verified as well. I don't want to screw anyone. :thumb:

Early Stages 95 Nighthawk 750 Budget Streetfighter

So I've recently purchased a 95 Nighthawk 750 and am looking at doing a semi-streetfighter build. I've always been around sport bikes, but saw a 95 nighthawk 750 that needed some cosmetic work for sale for 500 in running condition with 18k on the clock, just needed to have the carbs completely cleaned/tuned.

Anyway, so far I've currently installed some Clubman handlebars, as it gives the bike a much lower profile, and the same look as the clip ons (Clubmans obviously much cheaper).

Also added a Veypor Gauge to replace the non-working stock, broken gauges. Then had the carbs completely gone through, cleaned, tuned and jetted. Fluids have all been replaced, brand new avon tires, and inspection/registration.

Currently looking at ideas for the tank/exhaust/seat. Lookin for a tail/seat similar to that of a newer bike, just not sure which yet, all ideas accepted. As far as the tank goes, current one is dented all over, including some dents that are pretty massive, so I'm looking for a tank to replace it with that has a more aggressive, possibly narrower lines but wouldn't be ridiculously hard to adapt to my bike. Then with the exhaust I'm really once again looking for a 4-1 that gives it that sportbike/streetfighter look.

Any help appreciated guys.

95 Nighthawk 750 Tank Options

Hello all, hoping I could get some advice as to options for a tank for my 95 nighthawk 750. Current tank has very severe dents and general dings/rust all over the exterior so I'm just looking at completely replacing, unless someone has a better option as far as repairing options go.

I was looking hopefully at something that I could modify to fit. I would prefer not to get another 95 tank because I'm looking for something hopefully a bit thinner with more aggressive lines. This bike has a veypor gauge with clubman handlebars and no windscreen. I'm trying to make the bike a little more aggressive looking so I'm hoping to be able to continue that with the tank.

Thanks in advance for any useful help!!

06 blade tire question

well, the riding season is getting near and i'm thinking a set of tires for the 06 would be a good thing as the ones on it are not in the best condition.. tire choice has never been my strong point when it comes to maintaining these things as i usually sell the bike before i replace a tire haha.

so here is the question.. what shoudl i get for my 06 blade?

I like to ride very aggressively and tend to go for the turns more then anything but the roads around here are typically not that challenging. im about 5'9 130 lbs if that helps.

thanks

Bought a new 929, previous owner might have screwed up the blinkers

So I went down to portland oregon on saturday to pick up a 01 929rr... bike looked great. Took it for a test drive, ran great but the blinkers seemed to not be working... but then they worked for a few minutes (but dim) and by the time I got done riding it they weren't working at all. The guy dropped another hundred on the price, and I bought it.

So, the guy who owned it before installed a home made integrated tail light system by using a trailer light converter to integrate the blinker lights into the rear brake lights, and the front lights were replaced by LED low profile blinkers. The headlights, tail lights, and brake lights work fine, but the turn signals do not. I can't even get the dashboard indicators to start blinking much less the actual lights.

Anyone have any ideas on where to start with this?

and is this the normal way to put in an integrated tail?

P.S.: The guy also took out the license plate light, and reflector, which is required in my state to ride a bike. Anyone have any good leads on aftermarket plate brackets with lights and reflectors?
