| Re: F/S 2003 Chevy Avalanche w/o Body Hardware Exactly. I figure I can pick up a Civic and save 200 a month right away between payment/gas/insurance.
I'm disapointed b/c I love driving a truck, and have been very happy w/ this one. But... gotta change some **** or I'm always going to be behind.
The bike may be next. Probably not right away, but maybe in the spring.

Just that with school, the extra debt that is coming w/ it, etc etc. things have just been weighing on me. I've had a nice run, but it's time to make some scrifices before I get behind. My plan should put me in a pretty sweet place in 2 years.

| Re: F/S 2003 Chevy Avalanche w/o Body Hardware Sharp ride - and you're civic plan is not too bad at all...been there and done that, it's a good gig. Let me know if you need some snowtires/rims for the Civic too

The dealer I saw today wouldn't even talk about anything other than MSRP, and I haden't even looked at a car yet. I immediately labeled him "Worst Salesmen EVER".

| Re: F/S 2003 Chevy Avalanche w/o Body Hardware Oh - thats cause they're 06's...it's like what whenever Honda comes out with a new model of car for the first few months. Plus they weren't even available in Sept/Oct like typical 'next year' models. Those didn't hit dealer lots till 11/01 pretty much - the Si's even later. I will say if you're looking new, check around for invoice pricing and I think you'll be suprised - not a whole lotta markup on the Civ's either. You'll get your best deal waiting till last day of the month no doubt. But I'd expect to sell the Av privately cause they'll see the "gas guzzler vs. economy" trade trying to occur and will try to wait you out.
I was in the same boat when I made my trek - decided on getting a 2 year old 40k mile old Civic that I knew I could have paid well below the book value of that very same model car in two years time (via looking at what present used models were going for). Also lots of people lease civics - not sure why, but they do - and most leases on them are <3 year leases so there is a glut of them within that age bracket.
By buying 2 years used - I let someone else take the bite off of the sticker, and still got a 'new' car pretty much - and by flipping it at just under the 5 year old mark - still got a decent return on the deal.
On the plus side, once the Civics get over about 50k they actually breakin and it's possible to get 40mpg hwy out of the autos.

I didn't mean to be negative. The idea of getting rid of it for something more economical is a good one. Plus I said it looks like you kept it in great in shape. I hope all goes well for you in the sale of it.
I just think Chevy went wrong in the design. just my opinion. I don't like the half truck/ half suv or whatever its suppose to be idea.
