| Parts Needed for Scott's steering damper I bought the Scott's steering damper from someone on the forum a few months ago. When I went to put it on a couple weeks ago, the gas tank screws he gave me were the stock length.
I tried contacting Scotts about acquiring new screws, but they've not gotten back to me. Does anybody have these two screws they could sell/give me? |

I just bought a damper from someone else and thinking about ordering some new bolts myself. Good luck. |

However, I think I have them in the garage, if I haven't used them for something else. (I do that sort of thing.)
If you P.M. to remind me, I'll look for them tomorrow. |

That worked much better for me; seems they don't keep up with the email link very well, but respond well on the phone. |

I just called them for a triple clamp nut for the damper mount which wasn't listed on their website. They were friendly and easy to deal with on the phone. Although they did want $20 for the nut. |

Although they did want $20 for the nut. | It is a very special nut, and a low volume thing at that. Compared to what people pay for other go fast parts (or stock Honda fasteners), I think it is reasonable ... but shocking when you find out. |

Do you know why we cannot use our stock triple clamp nut? I have been outside to test this yet, but will the bracket tighten down over the existing nut or is there something else to that special nut? I suppose everyone would be doing this if they could use the stock triple clamp nut. I am just a cheap bastard |

I am just a cheap bastard | This is a larger nut, that sits taller to provide the correct damper to triple spacing, and has a round section that the damper set screws onto. It separates the damper clamping from the nut portion. The nut sits too low in the triple to clamp to ... I looked at that to see if I could make it work when the used kit I bought came with the stock nut instead of the Scotts one. |
