If I think of more I will post it. the car has a very solid drive train. it runs very strong and has a nice package. My sister owned it before me. I bought it and did all the mods to it it has a fresh alignment on it. its a fast car. Ive owned it for about 6yrs now. I want a new cobra so Im selling this. | Re: mustang convertible here is an older pic. Since the pic I have lowered the car and put the 17inch cobra R's on the car and I added a cobra grill which is cut out and has the running horse on it. The car also has Eclipse speakers and components in the doors and a Pioneer CD player with entertainment display

Re: mustang convertible Its been to the track twice and its been a few years. I dont really care to pay money just to go beat the hell out of my car. I ran it at the track as it looks in the pic and it spins pretty bad. 2.20 60ft!!! needed drag radials and I have since lowered the car. added 10in rear wheels and put the upper and lower control arms. but it ran 13.80 @ 103mph I have since swapped cams and changed from 1.7 to 1.6 roller rockers. IT had the ford racing E303 cam with 1.7s which came out to 220/220 duration and .529/.529 lift. IT now has 226/226 duration and .512/.512 lift. THis car pulls hard to 6200 and runs very smooth and has a lumpy idle. I have yet to run it or use the nitrous with this cam combo. I have barely used the nitrous. ITs there but not a big deal to me. more of a bling factor. a 100hp shot gives an average of 10-11mph in the quarter. the car has a 75hp shot. 103mph is good mph for a quarter and the car feels stronger with this cam. If this motor was in a coupe it would run high 12's all day on motor and low 12's High 11s on spray. Reality is the convertibles are heavy. and Im not a hard core drag racer it has been my daily driver in the summer for the past 6 years and it sits in a barn under a cover in the winter. ITs not a race car but will give your local Trans ams, vettes and cobra a run for their money

Re: mustang convertible The car hooks pretty good with the new tires and control arms but would require some more seat time and clutch practice to race it competitively in the quarter. The car is built for fun all around driving. I just drove it with the occasional spurt here and there. damn the more I talk about it I think Im gonna talk myself into keeping it....somebody buy this

Re: mustang convertible I would love to supercharge it. it has about a 9.5:1 compression ratio. the heads are 58cc. I think 8-10psi would be badass. Ive got alot of money wrapped up into it. Just cant justify another 3-5K for a charger. a kenne bell or a procharger would be tits. Im looking for a 98-2000 cobra with very low miles on it that is all original that I can put exhaust, supercharger, and a steeda shifter and leave the rest all original. and have a sweet stock collectors car. or a saleen but I think my grandprix would have to go bye bye to afford one. It would love boost and at probably 5-6psi would push well past the 400rwhp mark. if you do the math of the weight of the car and is mph and time its easy 300+ to the wheels.

Re: mustang convertible about the same as a supercharger. they both run between 3-5 grand unless you have alot of experience where you can build your own turbo kit. turbos make sick power on these 5.0's

Re: mustang convertible Yes I know. A couple friends have turbo'd 5.0s quick enough that they make them run the 8th at our local track. Another guy has a Cobra like you are talking about that he put a 03 Cobra motor in and turbo'd. You might have seen it on that Pinks show recently running 10s in Rockingham NC. It's a convertible too.
