FS 954/929 Penske Shock

I have a 8981 Penske shock for a 954rr that has just been serviced by Penske last week. I bought a triple clicker unexpectedly and now i need to sell the 8981. It has a 6-850# spring which Penske tells me is good for 170-210lbs rider. The shock is in great working condition, but does have a few scratches form being mounted. I would like to have $550 since i just had it rebuilt by Penske ($100), but i am willing to take an offer.

This will fit 929 & 954? I thought the top mounts were different? Can you send me some pics?

I called and asked Penske this question and they sayed the only thing different between the two shocks is the 954 shock has a spacer in it that will need to be removed to fit the 929. I can get you pictures, but it will take a couple of days till I can get to my friends house where the bike is kept. Both the 929 and the 954 shocks use eyelet style mounting top and bottom.

I think we determined in another thread that the mounts are the same. They just come slightly different lengths, that's probably the spacer that they mentioned.

Ok, I still would like to see some pictures of the shock...I'm looking to upgrade my suspension rather than to buy a new bike.

I am very sorry that it is taking so long to get the pictures. I did not know my friend was on vacation so I am not able to get you pics until Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. I can assure you that the shock is in good working condition expecially since Penske just did there service to it. The exterior has only a few minor scratches, but nothing that would not be from normal use. My email is dlc_conn@yahoo.com. I just remebered that I had Penske send me a picture of the shock while the spring was off. The pic should be post. Hope this helps. I will have more pics of the entire shock as stated in above post.

Shock arrived today and I installed it. Huge improvement over stock. dlc conn is an excellent trader. Highly recommend him in the future. Shock was packaged very well and shipped when payment was confirmed. Thanks dlc conn for the shock.
