This is just a cut and paste from my Craigslist ad:
I am the original owner and am just not riding the bike any longer. It has I think a little over 18k on the clock (I'm not sure because I have stored it in the garage on stands with the battery removed).
The only use the bike has seen in the past 2 years was a track day. This is an adult owned and maintained machine. I'm not a squid and I have taken very good care of the mechanicals; oil changed every 1k-3k, valves done on time just before 16k, proper chain tension, brakes bled regularly, etc.
Here are the modifications:
- 1 tooth down on the front sprocket and a 525 chain (no I don't even know how to do wheelies, this was for the track)
- Dan Kyle Racing built forks with 1.1 springs and the whole deal with less than 1k miles on them ($400 when Dan built them for me)
- Aftershocks (before Phil left and went to work for Calmoto) built Penske triple clicker in the rear (close to $1k in the rear end)
- Woodcraft clip ons
- Woodcraft rearsets
- Galfer HH pads and stainless lines up front
- Pazzo levers
Here is the bad:
- Other than a brand new cowl, fairings are far from perfect. Everything attaches correctly and all fasteners are in place, but there are a number of scuffs.
So before someone thinks I'm just trying to off a wrecked bike, here is the story. It has had 2 very low speed (under 20 mph) tip overs; one by me and one by a friend (the only 500 yards put on the bike not by me). I have been 2 wheels only for a number of years and my GS has become my primary transport relegating this bike just to track duty, and as mentioned, that has been one track day in the last 2 years. I never replaced the fairings as I couldn't care less about bling on the track (plus I ride a GS, so don't really care what I look like) and the only reason it has a brand new OEM front cowl is because the race fairings I ordered a long time ago were incorrect for the bike and I had to rush to prep the bike for the last track day I did. I am certain the frame is straight and everything is in good shape as I trusted it to do 150 entering turn 1 at Thunder Hill. The tank is also perfect with no scratches, scuffs or dents.
You will get NO lies from me and I am a VERY avid motorcyclist who respects the way of life, so I'm not out to hose anyone. It has a clean title as well. If you are nice, I might throw in the stands too; yes one is a Pit Bull)
I'd like to get $4200, but if I'm off base, let me know and we can work on it. My wife has been offered a job in Germany where we will be moving, so I gotta off a bunch of toys before departure.
