| Park the bike inside? No says landlord! Ok, I just read through and can't find a damn thing in NFPA 30 stating that it's against any national fire code to park the bike inside. Maybe I missed something or maybe there's someone here that can shed some light on it. I'd love to have a document to quote when I go talk to her tonight. She said it was against fire code, and florida doesn't have a specific set of codes we just adopted the nation guidelines. Bummer for me... |

| Re: Park the bike inside? No says landlord! Yeah I really don't think they'll want gas stored in your crib, pretty standard practice. When I was in your situation, I just rented a very small storage unit. It was $50 a month at one of those u Store it places, and I had 24 hour access. |

| Re: Park the bike inside? No says landlord! Pretty standard practice. She was just trying to give you another reason besides, "Because I say so." I wouldn't let anyone park their bike in my fourplex even if it wasn't a Harley.

| Re: Park the bike inside? No says landlord! A landlord could always say no for any reason he/she desires. The place is theirs, and they make the rules - like it or not.
Fire code violation or no, if she says she doesn't want your bike in her place you can either park it outside, find a storage unit or a new place to live. |

| Re: Park the bike inside? No says landlord! Instead of looking for a way to prove her wrong, look for a way to show her that you will look after her place just as much as you are looking after your bike.
Give her the 'pride and joy' talk and then present to her the steps you will go through to ensure she is happy (i.e. don't install a ground anchor in the middle of the lounge room).
Look for the Win-Win situation. (Sorry, I work for HR consultants (not one myself) and it starts to rub off on you after a while. )
In fact check out the articles we send out as soft marketing http://www.topwheel.com.au/cgi-bin/archives.cgi and perhaps pickup a few tips on how to present it to her. They are written by far smarter people than me so hopefully they will help you with the human element.
But then again if you guys haven't been playing nice with each other, you might struggle to pull this off.

| Re: Park the bike inside? No says landlord! Just tell her that it's a Honda and its not gonna leak oil onto the carpet. She's thinking you got a Harley. She's just confused. |

Halcyonist, I had to look up your user name in my Rodale "Synonym Finder". So, are you really mild, pleasant, moderate, temperate, halcyonian, halcyonic, warm, summery, calm, peaceful, tranquil, pacific, serene, restful, reposeful, placid, still, motionless, smooth, undisturbed, unagitated, unruffled, quiet, windless, waveless, stormless? Or do you fall under the second or third listings? |
