| Dzus fasteners.... Can they be mounted to stock plastics?
If I have 2 sets of plastics, can one have the stock hardware and the other have Dzus? |

| Re: Dzus fasteners.... Of course you can. Does someone make a kit of all the right parts? Probably not, but that shouldn't stop you. BTW there are many different brands of fasteners. You don't have to be tied down to D'zus only.

| Re: Dzus fasteners.... To use them, though, don't you have to replace the threads with whatever the Dzus fasteners hook into? If the threads have to be replaced, then it would make it more difficult to use the stock fasteners. Dunno, I've never used them, but I thought I remembered something about them attaching something other than the stock threads. |

| Re: Dzus fasteners.... Dzus.. only way to go.
Yeah, they use a clip on the female side that the fastener *locks* into. See attached photo. I hope never have to won anothe bike without them... |

| Re: Dzus fasteners.... I'm assuming the bolts going into the frame would stay. All the other bolts use a rubber encased nut assembly that can be tossed. I think there are 12 that go from the upper to the mid, and from the mid to the lower. Both sides included. Then there are a few on the bottom of the lowers and in the front. And all of the plastic connectors can be replaced.

| Re: Dzus fasteners.... Yeah, that's my point. The female part has to be replaced with the Dzus part, meaning the rubber encased nuts have to be removed. There's a name for them...wellbolts?..wellnuts?...anyway, it sounds like ND4SPD can't easily switch back and forth between Dzus fasteners and stock fasteners, unless I'm missing something. |

All of the so called "wellnuts" are attached to the body panals. When changing the plastics, the wellnuts go with them. Again, bolts going into the frame are always used no matter which set he choses.

Man, it's been a long winter and I haven't had the plastics off. Duh. |
