I'm here in bed having trouble sleeping and in deep thought about, "do I have too many bikes." I really do not want so many bikes but I feel I need them.

I have my superbike build, a 2009 R1. This is my pride and joy. Almost no expense was spared getting this bike to where i wanted. The problem is now I'm paranoid to take it anywhere that I have to park it. Paranoid to take it to the track in fear of crashing it. The bike is now my Sunday ride.

I have my 2001 Road star. This used to be my daily commuter. I also use this bike on long trips. It's likely going to be retired as the daily commuter because it's too big. I hate sitting in traffic, not being able to white line or navigate through congestion. It will still be used for long trips as it is comfortable.

1999 SV650 is my current project bike that will be taking over as the daily commuter. I'm currently building up the bike to meet my standards. I spent $500 on the bike and likely another $500 to get it right mechanically. I will not likely care about the security or appearance of this bike. It will be my hoopty.

2009 ZX6R. This bike took over for my old F3 track bike. The bike is completely built from the ground up to meet all demands the track can throw at me. I spent way too much on this build, I had the Ian obsession and now it's nearly an official supersport.

And lastly, 2003 YZ250. I got bit by the dirt bike bug. As you can see, all of these bike serve a different purpose. Three are homeless and two are in my shed.

Re: How many bikes do you have and why?

nice harem

I have three... well, Ian has one so I own three. My RR2 I've had for 14 years now and is a work in progress (formerly daily rider). Then, I picked up a 1999 Suzuki Intruder 1500 to replace our snowmobiles. ONLY to enable us spend time together on two wheels. Frankly don't really care to ride it alone. Most recent addition is my RR3. Unneeded, but very convenient to have two bikes of the same model. Work on one... ride the other. Needless to say, I don't miss much riding with friends due to maintenance downtime.

Honestly I'd like to have a "project bike" always on hand just to give me something to do (and to turn profit upon completion). Owning a supermoto just to "screw around" would probably be fun too. I hear they're balanced very well and are a blast to ride on the streets.

Re: How many bikes do you have and why?

Currently down to just the one (again). RR2 that is mostly setup how I want it to be.

I did, also, have a '98 VTX1100 (Shadow Spirit) for a while. When I moved I did not want to take two bikes (even though the distance was very short) and I did not have room for two once I gave up my place with a garage. So, Trinity (shadow) went to a new home with only about 500-1000 additional miles added to the 6300 I picked her up with.

I do want a dirt bike to play with and maybe a brand new SP2 (that apparently I have to get ahold of my cousin to buy since only legit race-teams can buy them)....

Re: How many bikes do you have and why?

We had 3 CBRs when I bought the 061k. We sold the 250 (dangit) even though I'd thought about making it trackworthy. I'd like to get my hands on the 17-250R and track that.

The 02-600 went to the Mrs. to learn and enjoy. I've built it into it's current state. It's taking up a garage bay until I finish the makeover to fully transfer ownership. But life being what it is, I may own it again. It is more comfortable than the 1k.

The 1k is getting a makeover and parts build. It's taking up the other garage bay while that's happening. Weather and work don't allow me to work on either bike.

My son has a 10-PW50. Gotta start somewhere!

Dam, I feel like I alone have a problem... You guys are really die hard Honda loyalist though, keeping it mostly Honda. There is so much aspect of riding, once I experienced the cruiser world off a profit build project, it's been down hill since because I want to dabble in all form of riding...

Yes, the bike is ready to go, and last year I was at the mercy of when the build was done. So now, I can plan accordingly and use the spring to get out there.

The service manager (whom I've known for over 12 years) at my local dealer teaches at NYST and NHMS, he's let me know he'll take me out while he's teaching. Just gotta set a date or 2.

Re: How many bikes do you have and why?

Good afternoon all, I will try to make this brief. There hasbeen a lot of activity in the paddock the last several months.

VTX 1500 sold
Picked up a VTX 1800 will be the spend time with the wifebike.
XR 250 spend time with the kids bike
The Mistress (900 RR) is down. the winter tear down did not go well, found a bunch of metal shavings that I can’t find where they came from. Not sure if she will be up for the summer yet.
XR 400 just because I can
RSV4 track bike sold and replaced with 2015 1000 RR
KTM 450 XC-F came with the snow bike conversion so had too.
Currently looking at a low mileage 954 to give the Mistress a rest.
And a bunch of old Brit iron that my dad and I are restoring.
