3 years and counting

I've been working on my 94' 900RR RRR off and on for about 3 years. It all started with a Craigslist buy from a soldier about to deploy. He couldn't get it started, the fuel pump was on backwards. I paid $800. I got it fired up and rode it and figured out that quite a few things were rigged and patched barely together. So I decided to give it a going through. Now with the revamps and rebuilds I've seen on here, this is nowhere near that. What Ian has done is art and admired by all. It has a 17" front wheel conversion with a VFR front, F4 speedo conversion and a few other tweaks that I will share. I wanted it safe, running well and a little old school. It's starting to look like a bike again and I just wanted to share. Here is a before and after. Just got the tank done and the bodywork fitted. I hope it inspires someone to save an old CBR.

Still dealing with back and neck issues from my head on. One more surgery next month and I should be back on the horse.

As for the Rothmans, I've never seen one in the states, just in magazines and online pics. Repsol's and Monsters everywhere. Just wanted something different. I was a fan of Eddie Lawson and his white wheeled Rothmans.

I'm still looking for a solo seat cowl. There's one on Ebay but not sure it will fit. The guy wants $159 for it also. I think he's been smokin something. There are a few from the UK but those guys have horrible reviews and feedback. I still have to find the right block off plates for the mirrors or just make some. I ordered some but they don't fit.

A massive garage sale is looming as well. All the leftovers are going. Thanks again for all your help.

PS: Your bikes look sick. I should have accidentally left mine at your house and stole it back when you were done.

Rothmans is a perennial favourite of mine. My previous 600 I got done in a customised Rothmans scheme. Will upload later.

Re: 3 years and counting

Got the rear cowl from a Ebay seller in the UK. $58.16 to my door in TX. Fits pretty well. Nicely made. I made the butt bumper. Just about to take it all back apart to paint match everything.

Also just got this pipe hanger bracket. I wanted to make one but this one was $36.99 and it'll do til I come up with something else.

Still have some wiring issues to conquer. The F4i speedo still won't register and I can't get the Speedohealer to power up. I think their harness is wrong.

What did you do to the fork sliders. They look TiNitride. Did you have them coated?

Let me know about your wiring. As you know I've done both those mods.

I emailed the guys at Healtech and they insist that the harness is correct. The colors don't make sense to me. I wanted him to give me a diagram of the colors. On the speed sensor the green is in the middle with the pink and black on the outside.
