| Bike Magazine, bike engines vs idiots You have to read this, it is funny and does show you how damn tough Japanese sportbike motors really are.

| Re: Bike Magazine, bike engines vs idiots This reminds me of a story from Bikeweek down in Daytona that my dad told me a few years ago.
There is some kind of Harley scumbag gathering down there at a place called the Snake Pit. Every year they all get their Harleys together, have drag races and stuff, and bash Jap bike owners.
For part of their "show" they buy a brand new sport bike, hoist it up in the air on a huge crane they bring in just for this event, and then drop it to the delight of the tattooed-up, assless chaps wearing freaks. Before they do this they wire tie the throttle wide open and start the bike to blow it up.
This was a few years ago, and according to my dad the bike was a brand new CBR1000F. They tied the throttle wide open, fired the bike up, and then sat back and watched as the Harley riders cheered and waited for it to quit. They waited, and waited ... and waited some more. I guess it took over ten or fifteen minutes running WIDE OPEN before it finally dropped a cylinder and started smoking. He said it probably ran for twenty or more minutes before it finally crapped out.
It was pretty anticlimactic since every Harley owner there new their own bikes wouldn't run for 30 seconds that way. |

| Re: Bike Magazine, bike engines vs idiots Too bad they did that to a perfectly good bike, thought only the stunters did that kind of stuff for their videos. Would be a lot more fun if there was a vid of it. |
