| Riding Angry... the other nite i had just gotten off the phone with my ex.. i was totally frickin pissed... fuming actually. on 40 on the way home.. i was hauling ass so that i could get home and do some more bitching to the ex... as i was flying home in the left hand lane... i saw the white camaro sitting in the emergency lane.. as soon as i passed him i knew i was tagged. sure enough... blue lights in the rear views... pulled over. pissed as a MF. on top of speeding.. my frickin registration and inspection were expired.. i was flipping... not at the cop... just pissed at my ex. the cop called me back to his car... asked me if there was anything he could do to help.. told me that his parents had split up.. and that he's close to his father now... said he would give me a warning on the speed.. tg, cuz i was waaaaaaay over the speedlimit. at least by 40. and he gave me tickets on the registration and inspection... so nothing was a moving violation... cool cop. i still strongly dislike my ex though |

| Re: Riding Angry... totaly worth a thanks to the boys in blue. Most of the guys/gals out there with a heart can tell when your speeding for reasons. (not saying thats an excuse) but they treat you well when you treat them well. |

| Re: Riding Angry... One should never ride with anything on mind bar the road & the traction. The RCMP are not kind to one's reason for speeding & I forked out $380.00 for 3 speeding tickets last year that also upped my compulsory insurance.
EAch cop stated I was doing 117KPH & that seems to be the magic figure they wanted to use & then say they will help & reduce it a bit, to make them sound like decent RCMP constables. Even then riding at around that pace in 5th cog on my 929 would be around 5 thou. The MAX speed limits have me sucking at 80, 90, to 100KPH & that is around 3.5 thou in 6th cog for lower ones & around a bit below 5 thou in the 100KPH.

| Re: Riding Angry... Critz, where you been?! Glad to hear that you got pulled over by a "Chain" - could've definitely been a lot worse. As for the ex, sounds like some real friction exists - please don't do anything stupid/violent and disappear from the forum! Somehow you just gotta put her behind you and move on ('course I don't know the circumstances at all ). Just care about you bro! |

| Re: Riding Angry... That is a very nice officer man. When I hear of a guy actually taking time to listen what is wrong and actually have the intellect to tell reality from a lie, I gotta give respect.
Critz, I'm in it like you, only not with my ex. but with my boss. Been going on all week, she is the biggest micromanaging bitch I have ever worked for, not to mention working day and night, 12 days straight, I could go on for days . Had a ride to Mt. Baker scheduled today and decided to skip it, try not to ever get on the bike angry. It's an accident waiting to happen. Glad you are OK. |

| I used to be really bad. I've mellowed quite a bit over the years. But I would still never get on a bike when I'm pissed. |

Glad to see you posting, happy to hear you ran into one of the brotherhood who excercises a little discretion in doing his job too. |

| Re: Riding Angry... Well I find myself going out when I get pissed these past few weeks being in a similar situation, usually I can control myself pretty good, but I hate riding angry I really need to stop.

| Re: Riding Angry... I've ridden angry before, it's not smart, always when arguing with the missus... I've learned if you've just got to get the hell away from whatever situation it is then take a car or walk- a superbike is no place for an angry head.
Another sort of related thing is never ride upset either:
My sister got run over last year and her BF called me from the ambulance, I didnt' have the option of taking a car, I tried so hard to stick to the limit, saying to myself "it's not going to help anyone if you stack it" over and over, but I was so upset the speed kept piling on, lucky it was mostly a freeway run during the evening so traffic was light, but even still I ended up splitting between cars doing 300 -3 times the limit... very very stupid, I pretty much held it it flat in 6th. I never realised just how much my family means to me until that point, I really just couldn't do anything but get there as fast as I could. I ended up beating the ambulance to the hospital and I had twice the distance to cover... very stupid...
Ben. |
