| Help me find a new bike! Regarding this: http://www.fireblades.org/forums/showthread.php?t=22716
These are the best OTD prices I've found so far. I'd rather get it from a dealer that is within a reasonable distance from Raleigh, NC so that I won't have to deal with shipping. Anyone have any suggestions?
2004 1000RR: $10,881.40
2004 600RR: $8,725.00 |

Seriously, any chance of going to the Hoot, or to the Gap anytime soon? I'll be there around 5/6 June, and the weekend of the hoot, at the very least.
Those prices do seem high, though. |

| Re: Help me find a new bike! FWIW, the local dealer (a friend of mine that sold me my 929, 954, 954, 50, and FJR) here would price match anything else you can find, has several 1000s in stock, and without price matching, would do a low 10 OTD for you.
Might be an excuse to visit Historic Charleston, and you're welcome to crash here |

| Re: Help me find a new bike! That is a good price on the 1000RR man, especially if it is local. You are getting the bike OTD for less than MSRP in its' first year, do it! Call Dan up and get a set of the Sato Riser bars for it (the stock clipons are risers as well) and it will be comfortable. Do it! |

| Re: Help me find a new bike! Either bike you get, you should be able to get some free kickbacks from Dan Kyle right? You guys have had a nice business relationship for a while, I bet he'd throw some parts your way as a thank you for bringing him a bunch of business.
Get the 600. When are you gonna use that much power? I'd never get another liter bike. If I didn't already own the 929 outright it would be gone for something smaller and/or more touring oriented.

-Shrub | Only if you don't mind revving the rissole out of it all the time
I test rode the 600RR and the 954 back to back. What sold me on the 954 was tractability. With the 600 you have to sit at over 8krpm to be ready to overtake. With the 954 its point and go.

| Re: Help me find a new bike! Conq,
I'm late to the party, but congrats on the (upcoming) new ride. It must be exciting, the prospect of turning a page in your riding history, selling the XX, and getting back to your hardcore sportbike roots. We figured this was going to happen some time back when you posted your Givi stuff for sale. Then the TMs. Then the RAM stuff, etc.
Anyway, call Honda East in Toledo, OH and ask for Ed, the Internet Sales Manager. This shop is reputed to do the most yearly internet sales on new powersports products of all U.S. dealers. I have a couple of friends who've bought from them. Their prices are generally unbeatable and the manner in which they crate and ship their bikes is impressive - they go all over the country on new sales. http://www.hondaeasttoledo.com/ |

That might be out the door there but getting in the door to NC might be a different story. |

-Shrub | I'd have to agree here too. I'll be reluctant to get much bigger than a modern 600. But, Conqsoft doesn't do a lot of track stuff, so the liter might be more likeable for him.
I'd go 600 again myself, but then again, he's already got one of those in the garage (princess's)... |

I could put it in the bed of the truck I guess.... |

| Re: Help me find a new bike! I'll chime in here too, Conq(not that my opinion matters though)...if you're going to be getting into track days and the sort, I'd opt for the 600 as it's more than enough for the track....if not, go with the big dog I know either way, you're going to get it all fitted with the good stuff(shock, rearsets, clip-ons, etc)....so either way buddy, you can't lose.... |
